Fly tippers! We hate them here in Hertford, they're such a menace!
I've recently found out that East Herts council Spent £70,000 in 08/09 on clearing up fly tipping alone! Council tax in Hertford and the surrounding areas has risen recently, but think how much it could be reduced if their wasn't this plight on our hands!
We, the people of Hertford can help though. If like many others this spring you are having a clear out of your rubbish, use an AUTHORISED person to take it away or take it to the tip (for opening times check the LOCAL GUIDE tab at the top of the page). Remember folks, it is YOUR waste, and if it ends up being fly tipped you could be prosecuted or fined up to £50,000 and/or one year in prison.
