Jackie’s journey in jewellery started when she studied precious metals alongside Lance James, before going on to pursue a career in Hatton Garden —London’s famous jewellery quarter. Jackie then teamed up with Lance at his store in Essex for a few years before opening the Hertford branch with her husband. 

Since then, the business has become a firm favourite among Hertford shoppers who are attracted by the varied and unique range of jewellery, sourced from leading and emerging UK and European designers. These include ChloBo, Virtue London, Bastian, Furrer-Jacot and Ntinga. 

“We’re not like other high street jewellery shops, we try to cover as many styles as possible,” explains Jackie. “We stock items from some of the best young designers in the UK, plus we also make a lot of our own jewellery.

“This means we make bespoke items tailored to you and your style, while adjusting the metals and stones to suit your budget. It’s all about giving our customers exactly what they want. Our personal service means our customers are more likely to recommend us to their friends and family.”

With a workshop and trained technicians on site, Lance James is able to offer jewellery remodelling, ring resizing and resetting stones. Other services include 0% finance (terms and conditions apply).

Lance James can even boast an award-winning apprentice, Ryan Turner. After graduating from the British Academy of Jewellery in October, Ryan was named as one of four finalists for the academy’s apprentice of the year and duly won the coveted title. Now Ryan is making his name with his own range of handmade men’s bracelets.
