Welcome to the Hertford blog.

In a recent poll conducted by The Halifax bank, 405 local authorities were rated on things such as crime, life expectancy, earnings, weather and even broadband speeds!

To accentuate the North/South divide there were only 6 areas in the top 50 that were outside the Southern border, with the highest featuring 22nd which was Rushcliffe in Nottingham.

East Hertfordshire didn’t rank in the top for any particular category, but scored highly enough in each category to give it a top ten finishing place. The whole article can be viewed here via the LoveMoney.com website.

It can be very easy to complain about life in East Hertfordshire, there are lots of shop closures, rates are high and the roads are littered with potholes.....but! Life is generally good! Crime is low, education is fantastic, the general area is steeped in interesting history, earnings are generally good, we have a pro active district council that listens to its residents and makes changes where it can, our countryside is amazing and there’s loads of brilliant walks and bike rides and traffic is really only busy during rush hours.

I’m sure there’re lots more reasons you can think of that make East Herts one of the top ten places in the UK to live, but life’s too short! Start enjoying East Herts and embrace what makes it great!
