Chestnut Vets Puppy Class

One of the veterinary nurses at The Chestnut Veterinary Group recently hosted her first puppy class.   The class was held by Siobhan at the Hoe Lane practice in Ware, close to Hertford.   The party gave the puppies a great opportunity to experience the veterinary practice in a very positive way and gain confidence in the veterinary environment and in each other.  This is so important for young puppies as they often visit the vets and have negative experiences (being examined, having injections etc) which results in them fearing their future encounters with the veterinary practice.

The evening was very informal, allowing the puppies to play and explore their surroundings.  It also allowed the clients to discuss their experiences and any concerns that they had with their puppies, with each other and the nurses.
The class was small which allowed the focus of the evening to be on the individual puppies, which gave them a chance to have a great time, and each puppy went home with a party bag consisting of lots of information, treats and toys!

The evening was a huge success, so much so that one of the puppies didn’t want to leave!

If you are interested in bringing your puppy along to one of these puppy classes, or would like some advice, please call The Chestnut Veterinary Group in Ware Road, Hertford on 01992 554466 or Hoe Lane in Ware on 01920 468874.
