CHILDREN IN NEED SUPPORTING GUERNSEY SPORT PROGRAMME

The Guernsey Sports Commission will be receiving £66,000 over the next three years to support delivery of the Street Sports programme from 2015 until 2017, a community initiative that offers local youths the chance to take part in sport in their own neighbourhoods.

Last Saturday 377 local riders cycled a combined total of 10,500 miles and raised £9,000 for two local charities.

The Guernsey Arts Commission has selected seven young Guernsey artists and will be showing their artwork at the greenhouse in Candie Gardens, from Thursday 11th September 2014, in an exhibition entitled 'Transforming: Seven of the Best'.

THE NIGHT RIDE RETURNS TO LIGHT UP GUERNSEY ROADS

The Guernsey Bicycle Group is organising another NightRide after the inaugural event last year was so successful and popular.The first NightRide last year saw over 300 local cyclists raise more than £7,000 for charity by riding around the moonlit roads of the island one evening.

The Guernsey Arts Commission has budgeted £10,000 to support emerging bands and music groups. Interested groups can apply for a £1,000 grant to develop their careers, to pay for promotion, gig expenses, studio time or CD pressing.
