If you want a stay with the nicest staff ever then this is for you. Nothing is too much trouble. My grownup children staying on Guernsey stayed for two nights there and we all had Christmas lunch together. The hotel looked very magical
and was decorated beautiful for a traditional Christmas. From Ula on reception to everyone in the restaurant, run beautifully by Alessandro just so friendly and helpful. Andre, is a great manager and his team work very hard.

As a footnote my little dog loves the hotel ... we have stayed there when relocating here ... he is made so welcome and would probably would move in if he could!!

Thank you OGH for making Christmas lovely in this weird time!

Really lovely location, felt delightfully posh, service could have been a little better for such a nice place to really top off the experience, but I would definitely recommend.

Just spent a wonderful few days at OGH truly a five star venue, room food service all at the top of the game despite the current situation, hopefully back on line now for the rest of the year, fantastic.

A nice hotel with a fantastic bar and restaurant. The spa suite needs a little updating. The location is excellent for town and the harbour for inter island trips

We had the most amazing 3 night stay at the OGH. From the moment we checked in to the very moment we left , we were treated with great courtesy and professionalism. We loved the evening turn down service which left us wondering what we would get in our treat box. The afternoon tea was just amazing . We were very lucky with the weather, but still welcomed the heated pool. We wish them all the best in these uncertain times and thank them for their fabulous hospitality.

We just spent a week in this wonderful hotel and it was a great experience. The staff are incredibly professional, courteous and helpful. This is the bedrock of a good hotel and they shine! The building itself is very traditional, well maintained and clean. Our room was a King with balcony with a fantastic view - lots of room and storage, beautiful bathroom and a huge comfortable bed. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day and there was a turn-down service each evening which came with a tasty sweet treat a a small white box. We couldn't wait to see each night what we had.

Breakfast was delicious each morning and the choice was plentiful with wonderful service and breakfasts made to order.

The hotel has lovely outside spaces but our favourite was the outdoor heated pool. We were lucky with the weather but it was like being abroad!

The location for me was perfect. There is a hill up to the hotel from the front but if hills aren't your thing then maybe St. Peter Port isn't for you? I found it to be no problem as it was a gradual slop and there were people far older than us who found it just fine too.

All in all we had a fabulous experience and time at the OGH was wouldn't hesitate to return.

I had booked myself to the Duke of Richmond hotel for a short staycation before this lockdown. Before I had a chance to call and ask if it's ok to come, they called me and asked if it would be ok to take my break in the Old Government House... I had been upgraded to the Sark Suite and it was gorgeous. In my use I had two (yes 2) bathrooms, two balconies, living room, bedroom and even two walk in wardrobes. I enjoyed the hospitality of the entire staff. I also enjoyed two afternoon teas. It was kind of sad having breakfast alone as there wasn't a lot of guests there. Dinner service was good too. Even if you book just an afternoon tea and no stay this hotel is worth checking out. It's walking distance to downtown and bus station for visits on the rest of the island.

Booked this hotel for my mother and aunt when they came to visit.
I checked the room before they arrived, and I must say myself it was worth what I had paid.
They throughly enjoyed their stay, complimenting the superb 5***** service and attention to detail. Their room had a nice balcony and great view of the port.
They enjoyed the great spa facilities the hotel has to offer and the afternoon tea.
Hotel is perfect location in town, where they were able to explore the town and St. Peter's Port.

This hotel is wonderful, our room was spacious, plenty of hanging space and drawer space. Bed large, comfortable and good quality bed linen. Bathroom was large with the usual toiletries plus! Towelling gowns, slippers provided.
Tea and coffee making facilities. Hairdryer, safe.
The staff friendly and helpful and non intrusive. All staff looking very smart.
Breakfast buffet really good plus cooked choices. Restaurant choices good and tasty.
There was an outside pool but obviously not in use for this time of year.

Stayed one night (14th March 2020).
Overall a very pleasant experience.
The staff and service was excellent.
I must give an outstanding rate to “Nazario “a waiter in the brassiere restaurant.
What a charming young man with outstanding customer service.
The room was well furnished and comfortable but not my taste of decor.
Also a bit small for the price charged.
The spa area ( sauna/steam room ) was a bit shabby.
The spa and gym closes at 6pm on a weekend which nobody mentioned on check in or when I viewed the spa earlier in the day. Sadly I only got 10 minutes use of it.
On check in you are required to leave your car keys at check in.
On checking out I was given the wrong car keys twice as nobody had labelled the keys ( not good ). Also my bill was incorrect.
These areas could be improved on but didn’t spoil my stay.

Went to a reception to launch the programme for the Island Games next year. it was a small event but we were made very welcome on arrival and looked after very well for the 90 minutes we were there.

Many thanks,

Lovely hotel with great staff. Lots of thoughtful little extras to make you feel welcome. Great location - you can walk to the town and marina. Nice breakfast, good evening dinner menu. We had a very nice room with comfy bed and a great view. Book direct with hotel for the best price.

We were there for a one night winter warmer and must say we couldn’t fault it, we were welcomed at checkin with a nice glass of bubbly then taken to our room which was superb with sea views. My wife made use of the spa where I went to the bar for a quick g&t served by Saul a very friendly and efficient young man but I will say all the staff are superb, went back to the room for a quick shower then back to the bar for another g&t each then dinner in the brassiere which was very good indeed. This is our first actual stay at the hotel but we’ve used it for gin tastings and afternoon tea and absolutely love the place, looking forward to a wine tasting and two more gin tastings.

The location is very good - right in the centre of the town. There are some negatives that go with this, of course, such as none of the rooms being very big (we had a seaview king room) and the need for help with parking if you have a car.

The service was good, but prioritised formality over friendliness.

We had two breakfasts and one dinner - all excellent.

Quite expensive.

Stayed for a single night. Alberto (member as reception team) was brilliant - really friendly and helpful - arranged a few hours late check out at no extra cost.

Brasserie restaurant served great food I specially enjoyed the delicious cheescake yummi.

Really enjoyed my short stay and will be back.

Amazing place to stay. Lovely clean and comfy rooms. Really friendly staff. The food served is always to a very high standard. It's a 30 second walk away from town, which is great! Out of all the hotel's I have stayed in on Guernsey this is definitely my favourite. I highly recommend it. The pool is lovely too, but often full of screaming children in the summer time!

Amazing afternoon tea and very good tea selection. The scones are fantastic as well as the rest. The cakes are made very well with attention to the details. Good service and professional stuff. Unfortunately I can't come often because I'm not from Guernsey.

We were dining with a large party. Service was slow, they took ages to take our order and when the food was served one diner's starter was forgotten about. My main was not great - bones in the fish and the chips were over cooked. Two diners had their sweet forgotten about. To cap it all the waiter opened and served an extra bottle of wine that we had not ordered. We were charged for the whole bottle although they did not serve the whole bottle after their mistake was pointed out to them. This was particularly poor given that there were only s few other tables occupied. Overall - not the standard of food or service I was expecting from this establishment.

Amazing Hotel & Service. Staff is beyond helpful with tips, planning out the day and anything needed. I had several injuries after a skateboard fall and staff helped beyond what they had to. Breakfast is to die for, never had a better granola in life. 😝 Definitely worth the visit.

Welcoming and efficient staff make this charming and beautifully appointed hotel a charming place to stay in Guernsey. The rooms are large, modern and well stocked with all necessary amenities. The view over St Peter Port from the dining room present a wonderful start to the day

The venue looks amazing, deep red walls, pictures and memorabilia of the Raj. It's in the OGH which itself is full of history. The food was ok, the starter was inspiring and we hpyped for more. The mains were standard fare for a curry house and the cheesecake dessert was only ok. That said it wasn't a bad curry but it wasn't worth the £38 price tag before drinks. What really let the venue down was the service. I can manage a lazy meal but we waited 10 minutes to be seated in a room with 6 tables and no other diners. Half an hour for starter and in total nearly three hours to finish eating. There was only one staff member who said people often get angry and walk out. I'm not surprised.

Came for a spa day with afternoon tea included. Spa staff could not have been more attentive. Only dropped a point for the cakes in the afternoon tea. Most of it was great but the cupcake was awful and the carrot cake was very dry. Other than that, really enjoyed it
