Our blended paediatric first aid course is a 12 hour class comprised of 6 hours e-learning and 6 hours in person training. The course is ideal for early years practitioners working with children aged 0-5 years.

This course is ideal for those working in an early years setting with children under 5 years. The course includes the following: 

  • Get help safely in an emergency
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Understand infection control and first aid kits
  • Assess a casualty including completing a primary survey
  • Help a baby or child who is unreponsive but breathing normally
  • Help a baby or child who is unresponsive and NOT breathing normally including the use of CPR and an AED (where appropriate)
  • Drowning
  • Shock
  • Allergies and anaphylaxis
  • Bite and stings
  • Wounds and bleeding
  • Suspected spinal injuries
  • Breaks/fractures
  • Head injuries
  • Common childhood conditions such as asthma and diabetes
  • Seizures/epilepsy
  • Extremes of temperature
  • Burns
  • Poisioning
  • Accident reporting

All attendees will receive a course book and successful candidates will receive a certificate valid for 3 years.
