There are a large number of local societies which meet here, catering for all ages from babies to senior citizens for a wide range of interests including table tennis, drama, dancing, bingo, a playgroup, Scouts, Zumba, pilates, karate, W I, Ladies’ Circle, Camera Group, Caravan Club, Gardeners, sketching, craft group and Whist Club.
The Centre comprises a large Hall, (The Henry Twine Hall), two smaller rooms (The Lounge & The Activity Room) and two committee-sized rooms, together with kitchens and toilets. The money needed to run it comes from membership and affiliation fees, rents from hiring out the rooms, payments for advertising in our bi-monthly magazine, “The Community News”, our own fund-raising efforts and the occasional donation or legacy.
