The 6 hour emergency first aid at work class is completed as a 1 day in person course. The course covers what to do in an emergency situation with a child (over 1yr) or adult and is suitable for anyone who wants to receive training in emergency first aid within a smaller, low risk working environment.
This course is ideal for anyone wanting to receive training in emergency first aid within a smaller, low risk working environment. By the end of the course, successful candidates will be able to:
Understand the roles and responsibilities of a first aider.
Assess an incident and complete a primary survey.
Help a child or adult who is unresponsive but breathing normally.
Help someone who is having a seizure.
Help a child or adult who is unresponsive but NOT breathing normally.
CPR including using an AED.
Recognise and assist an adult or child who is choking.
Help someone who is wounded and bleeding including recognising shock.
Help a casualty with a minor injury.
Help someone with a suspected break or fracture.
All attendees will receive a course book. Successful candidates will receive a certificate valid for 3 years.
