Community Response Officer (DA) - FULL TIME

Are you looking for a new challenge? Would you like to make a difference in the lives of older people at risk or suffering from abuse? Hourglass, the only charity in the UK dedicated to ending the abuse of older people, is looking to recruit a domestic abuse Community Response Officer.

Community Response Officers (DA) will play a key role in shaping Hourglass’ response to meeting the needs of the vulnerable older population and their communities across Sussex.

Working within our new Community Hub structure (operating remotely initially, with the intention of establishing a physical base in the longer term) the post-holder will be pivotal in helping us establish a one stop-shop of information, advice and support services around the abuse of older people and safe ageing.

This role will be home-based initially but with the expectation of this becoming office-based roles in the programme develops accordingly. The roles cover the following areas and therefore you will be expected to be within travelling distance of the Sussex area.

Duration – Until March 2025 (subject to funding)

Salary - £21,500 PA

Hours of Work – 35 Hours per week to be undertaken between Monday and Friday 9 am to 5pm (with occasional out-of-hours duties)

Reports to - Head of Community Services

Interviews will be held on a rolling basis.
