I'm basing this review knowing the age of hotel and cost of break ( not a 5 star hotel )
I truly love the hotel the food and the comfort. What makes this great value is the dedication of management and staff , they could not do enough for you JUST ASK breakfast 5 star dinner 4 star accommodation 3 star overall 4 star .
Chief David gave us a recipe zoe gave us travel details n called taxi. Zander looked after us at dinner making sure my vegetarian daughter had her fill at meal times.
I can only say to Dave thanks for the Time and hospitality you showed us we will come back ..well done all

We only stayed one night but would stay for more. The hotel is in an excellent position and we had a large family room. The amenities are well maintained if a little aged but the attitude is positive. Parking was made easy with vouchers for a pound for twenty four hours. All good and just what we needed.

Very clean, helpful staff. Breakfast was plentiful, great choice, hot, plenty of tea and coffee. Excellent location right on beach front. Parking easy to find, only £1 per day with permit from hotel. Would go back.

This was a lovely hotel. We stayed in a front room which was very clean and well appointed. There was coffee and tea provided, the bathroom was fine and the view of the beach was amazing. The breakfast was OK, could have been a little better but for the price I think it was fantastic and we were there on the off season.

Me and my girlfriend stayed for a night for the beer and cider festival which was almost opposite the hotel. So it was situated in a perfect location for the beach, pier and the event. The staff were friendly, the hotel was very clean and the breakfast was spot on. Also it was value for money everything we needed and more it was catered for. We highly recommend this hotel and we will be using it again in the future.

I always think when you go to a hotel like this, you expect to have to continually ask for things. This was not the case and if you did, the staff would do anything to help sort you out. Food was excellent, it was clean and the staff were lovely. Highly recommended if you want somewhere really convenient, as right by the seafront and you want a very good 2/3 star hotel, particularly for a group. Would definitely go back.

Really enjoyed our trip here recently. It's a great value hotel right on the seafront with its own beach bar. Brilliant service from friendly staff. The highlight for me was our group dinner on the Saturday night where the chef pulled out all the stops - best seabass I've had for a long time! Breakfasts were excellent too.

Let me start by saying that this is not a swanky high-end hotel. But when 24 fifty somethings descended for our annual golf tour it was completely ideal. The rooms are basic but comfortable.
The hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate our requirements, and even bought in some draught local real ale at our request.
Hot cooked breakfast every morning set us up for the day, and twice during the week we ate as a group together at the hotel in a private dining area. The menu was put together by their excellent chef in consultation with us. Brilliant. And the food was absolutely first class.
There is a games room although we didn’t make a lot of use of it, but it has a pool table, table tennis and dart board.
As I say, if you are looking for up-market chic, this is possibly not for you, but if it is tip top service and value for money you are after then it’s just the job.

Stayed for 5 nights with a group of friends. Rooms are basic but more than adequate. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and when we ate in the evenings (twice) that was excellent.

Visited here with some golfing buddies as a base to cover Eastbourne and surrounding areas. Excellent buffet breakfast; rooms clean; functional and decor reasonable.

Just returned from a 4 night stay with a group of friends and I’d like to thank the hotel staff for making it such a great visit.
Food and service was first class and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff that work here.
I will definitely stay here again, and would strongly recommend this place.

Our room had a great view of the beach,it was clean and comfortable but no hot water all week.The shower was pathetic ,a trickle of cool water if you were lucky just about everyone complained about it.However the food was excellent for both breakfast and evening meals.The staff were really helpful and friendly.

You can't fault the friendly polite staff, and the parking permits ease the stress of your stay, if you are lucky enough to get parked at peak times. The location is fantastic, but the tired worn out interior & exterior let this hotel down, and this was our 2nd visit. For a similar price you can get better facilities elsewhere. Our bathroom facilities were not used to full potential I. E didn't have a shower for our one night stay as it was far too small for a family and it is in dire need of an overhaul. Really disappointed as the room was clean but tired, in need of a refresh and holes in walls filled and pillow cases had holes in it. Breakfast was tasty, but waiting to be issued hot drinks that were in fact luke warm was not great, perhaps self service hot drinks is the way forward. This property has so much character and in a prime position it needs improving & for the price we paid we left feeling a bit flat.
If it were a chain establishment I would have asked for a refund on the room price alone. Shame as the sea view is wonderful!! Will we stay for a 3rd time probably not, unless they up their game.

Great location across from the beach. Helpful staff, cute bar, and good food. Will return again. Eastbourne a great place to visit. A mix of the original quaint with upscale touches and super beaches.

Our visit was from the 27th/28th. When we arrived the staff were friendly and welcoming. Throughout the evening our needs were met and staff would go out of their way to keep us happy, in particular a young lad that worked the bar. The room we stayed in was clean and a good size, there were a few signs of wear and tear but nothing that put me off. The shower was great; powerful, clean and warm but unfortunately we didn’t have anywhere to hang our towels. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would 100% return!

This is our third stay at West Rocks and it suits all our needs especially for value. Great staff - clean rooms, good breakfast, good location. Daily parking permit an added bonus. Sea view rooms are great

Booked last minute after deciding to go away for the break. So glad I did. Eastbourne was sunny and the hotel was great. Lovely sea view room, hot belly filling breakfast and cheap parking with the hotel's parking voucher. Would recommend for anyone wanting a good value Eastbourne break. Added value is they own a beach bar on the beach (funnily enough), with great coffee and cakes and a full bar.

Booked direct with hotel on Thursday and got a great deal on a Fri and sat stay with breakfast included. Checked in and then went over to their beach bar for a coffee and a beer or two.
Hotel was lovely and clean, a lovely breakfast on both days and staff that make you feel welcome and want you to stay there.

Just returned from a lovely stay at this hotel. Room 42 lovely and clean with a great view. The building looks tired on the outside but room was good. Would recommend. Friendly staff and in a great position. The Belgium Cafe was great for seafood.

Found myself having to book a last minute hotel in Eastbourne for work. The staff were amazing and so hospitable. Comfortable beds and breakfast started early enough that I could take advantage of it before my meeting. Would certainly recommend to my other collegaues.

I was going to go to bed at 9.30 but stayed in the bar chatting to other guests and the manager and enjoying a glass of malbec until 11.
I will definitely return to this home from home.
