Nice enough hotel very slow service not enough staff

Recently stayed here on Eclipse holiday.
On the plus side, staff were excellent, well that is apart from one loud, shouty one.
Room 47 clean, comfortable beds.
Location excellent.
On the minus side:
The tiny lift had heavy cage door that was dangerous to manoeuvre. Lift didn't always work, resulting in us having to walk down four flights of stairs. Not easy if you have walking difficulties.
Also on the minus side, there was nowhere in the small bathroom to put toiletries. Water either scorching or freezing.
Food:
Buffet breakfast was adequate. Dinner on the whole was atrocious. Peas,peas and more peas. Overcooked roast potatoes seemed to be the order of the day. Salad consisted of rocket leaves and nothing else, no tomatoes, cucumber or any other items usually found in salads. The chicken pie was inedible. This hotel is let down very badly by the food it serves. This is a serious problem that needs to be addressed.Let's hope the upstairs restaurant was better.

Nice hotel for the money .food alright. People helpful, always have time for a chat with you.rooms clean. Stayed for five days would go back one of Caledonian travels better hotels nice place just to get about in a central location .

Nice hotel. We reached hotel at 2 PM but the room was not yet ready. We were offered free drinks as an apology, and the room was ready by 2:30 PM. Room nice, clean and comfortable. The building and the interiors of our room were old but worth the price we paid. It is 5-10 minutes walk from the train station, and across the road from the beach and the pier. All in all satisfied with room.

We have just returned from this hotel with our group from 2Ks travel. This was our second visit this year and for the most part it was enjoyable the breakfast was lovely with plenty of choices but the evening meals were plain and a bit small.
We had two nights entertainment the one singer was very good but the second one was not really suitable for our age group.
There was no festive atmosphere no Father Christmas and it didn’t seem at all like a Turkey & Tinsel. We’d enjoyed our stay earlier in the year which seemed to be much more welcoming that’s why we decided to return but this time we found it quite a dissapointment and most of our
passengers said they wouldn’t return to
this hotel.

Myself and 12 work colleagues booked up an evening meal at the West Rocks restaurant and enjoyed the streaks that you could could on the lava rocks Food was delicious, service was prompt, friendly and accommodating.

Myself and my friend stayed at the West Rock Hotel on the 13th of September for a 2 night stay. We didn't pre book, we simply just turned up and was given a good dead on a family deluxe room with breakfast. The hotel manager kindly showed us the room before committing.
Our room was on the 2nd floor (room 23), first impressions was the room was large, clean, bright and airy. The beds was extremely comfortable as well as the pillows, large bathroom, beautiful sea views, nice quiet room. Excellent location on the sea front, close to the town and the pier.
Our room had tea and coffee making facilities, decent TV with excellent reception, plenty of storage space, 2 chairs and table next to window.
There was a few negatives for us which was lack of accessible power sockets bedside, slow flushing toilet, avarage shower, curtains hard to pull, cheap plastic flimsy cups rather then propper glasses, Poor WiFi, middle lamp didn't work (fixed the next day when reported).
The breakfast was really nice, plenty of choice, decent quality ingredients.

We have family in eastbourne and visit multiple times a year. We have stayed in most of the hotels in eastbourne and have finally found one ideally located not going to break the bank and has great staff.
We have room 11 and then 42 both very good rooms, Staff are great its what a hotel should feel like, especially love the little touches like the home made cookies in your room when you arrive.
Will be staying there again in a few months an can highly recommend the place

My daughter and I stayed for a night at the end of the school summer holidays. Clean room, good price and really nice staff. Decent breakfast as well. Thouroughly enjoyed our stay. Would definitely stay again.
