Stayed at the hotel with friends over a Bank Holiday weekend and the visit was an absolute pleasure. The staff were very friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Chris and Steve, the new owners, have created a very warm and welcoming environment; charming gentlemen who seemed to be constantly at hand to help the guests with whatever they needed. The newly refurbished room we stayed in was very comfortable and clean; certainly worth booking a room with a sea view with panoramic aspects from the large period windows.
We'd planned to eat out for the evening but everywhere seemed to be fully booked so we ended back at the hotel - a blessing in disguise. All of our group couldn't praise the food enough - top marks to the chef. We chose to eat in the hotel restaurant for lunch the following day for a second culinary delight.
I'd most definitely recommend a stay at West Rocks Hotel - couldn't have been better.

This hotel has an excellent location facing the lawns and sea in the centre of the Promenade on the corner of midway between the Wish Tower and the Band stand with the theatres and shops just a few minutes walk .We booked a quiet room for 2 nights B&B to visit family in the area, it was light, clean and well furnished with all facilities., This Victorian building has just been refurbished in a modern style to a good standard throughout. Breakfast had fresh fruit and juice, pastries and the full English. We had a cream tea in the lounge &. sandwiches and drinks in the bar at various times, Service was very friendly and swift and the cost very reasonable. Not surprisingly the hotel was fully booked. We had meals elsewhere with the family but there is a proper chef & the menu here had a good choice with 2 courses £15. The restaurant looked elegant and other guests said the food was good - we wished we had eaten there! The new owner showed us some old records he had found of the history of the building and he is justifiably proud of the renovations and his helpful staff. On street parking with a hotel voucher £1 per day.

We had a fantastic stay this weekend at the West Rocks Hotel Eastbourne. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. Beautiful rooms and views. We were invited for Sunday lunch which was gorgeous to say the least as was our breakfast.

I had never been to Eastbourne prior to this weekend and really did not know what to expect from it as a coastal resort. It didn't matter, since the hotel that I had chosen to stay at was so incredibly luxurious and at such a reasonable price, I would have been happy to remain there for the entire length of my stay! Recently refurbished, this establishment offers various types of rooms with spectacular sea views, a friendly and efficient staff and very comfortable and relaxed surroundings. The restaurant, with it's ambient decor and 'chilled' atmosphere is a must, even if you are not a guest. The cuisine is without question some of the best I have experienced and would recommend a visit if you are ever in the Eastbourne area. I will most definitely be returning to West Rocks, even if just to sample the chef's most recent creation. An all round very favourable and positive experience!

We had a family lunch at the West Rocks hotel and I have to say it was superb - none of us could find fault in anything, My mother-in-law had the pork belly which was magnificent and my husband and I had the plaice - first class! They even managed to rustle up a delicious sausages and chips for our very fussy young son!
All washed down with a gorgeous Sauvignon Blanc!

The West Rocks Hotel is simply perfect. The sea view from my beautifully appointed room was spectacular. The bed was so comfortable that I had one of the best night's sleep in years! Traditional English Breakfast, cooked to delicious perfection was included with the very competitive rate. The overall experience was first class and such great value. I'm already planning my next visit!

The hotel room was spacious and clean. We had brand new beds which were very comfortable.The bathroom was spotless and the shower in particular was very good.
The only slight problem was that the kettle had a short lead and would not reach the power point but this was rectified by the management. All of the management and staff were all very friendly and approachable and couldn't do enough for you. We were made to feel very welcome and this added to the relaxed vibe of the hotel.
The breakfasts were delicious as was the meal we ate one evening.
Overall I would recommend this hotel as it is very handy for all amenities - the beach, town and public transport.

The welcome was very warm and helpful. We met the owner, Chris who was very welcoming and cheerful. We were shown to our room and checked everything was to our liking. The room was compact but clean. The en-suite shower worked well and was also clean. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet.
We decided to look outside the hotel for an evening meal. We were disappointed in what we found so dined in instead. This was a good choice. The Cottage Pie and Bream dishes were excellent. At first sight, these along with the starter (we thought) would not fill us up. We were very wrong and felt replete.

The hotel will sell a parking permit for £1 that covers parking in the immediate area (including the sea front) until 11:00am the following day. Excellent hotel with views to die for, rooms are spacious and very comfortable and the staff are as pleasant and friendly as you could wish for so much more personable than you get from larger chains, all in all a lovely place to relax and unwind

All i can say is wow this hotel is beautiful, the management and staff were so lovely, and we also got to meet the owners,they were such warm genuine men, we felt so welcomed, and to top it all we were given a free upgrade to a gorgeous big room with sea view, can not wait to go again. I've spent there very nice weekend. Perfect location, nice stuff, good price. It's very easy to get there from train station. I think it's great place to stay there for families and also for young people. I totally recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed last weekend at the West Rocks Hotel. It has been recently refurbished, and the decor and furnishings are very well put together. Our bedroom was beautifully proportioned, with a panoramic bay window overlooking the sea, the colour scheme was calm and restful and the bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have slept in.
The staff were efficient and extremely helpful with our requests. We also met the new proprietors who were charming and evidently very much involved in the daily running of the hotel.
We decided to stay in for dinner, and were not disappointed. The food was freshly prepared and cooked and was extrememly tasty. The breakfast was also of a very good standard.
Definately a great place to unwind!

Such a beautiful hotel in Eastbourne 2 minutes from the beach, real attention to detail and spectacular sea view.

Have just had a fantastic weekend at the newly renovated West Rocks hotel. First of all the location is amazing right on the sea front and near the pier. Parking was easy. The reception staff were friendly and efficient and showed me to my sea view room. The rooms have been renovated to a high standard and very tastefully done. Plasma TV, plenty of storage and tea coffee facilities. The bathroom was great, very clean with a good shower and bath. It was also good to have such a great view of the sea whilst lying in bed! The high light of the stay was the afternoon cream tea! Freshly baked scones and banana cake. Yum. Highly recommended. The chef of the hotel was great - traditional English breakfast and locally produce sausages and bacon were a nice touch. We had a meal in the hotel on Saturday night which was terrific and of a high standard. If you are looking for great value and friendly service I would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed in West Rocks for the weekend. What a find. My room was very clean and comfortable with a sea view. The food is superb and the staff friendly and helpful. All the beauty spots are within easy reach of the hotel - I'll certainly be back!

The West Rocks is beautifully located homely hotel on the sea front in Eastbourne. I was a first time visitor to this lovely coastal town and West Rocks Hotel. My party and I enjoyed our weekend thoroughly and will definitely be returning there soon. For me, it is the perfect getaway from busy London and is within easy to London by car of train. This old style victorian building has recently been renovated and has been done so in a very classy and tasteful way. The rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds and bedding. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The big surprise for me was the quality and standard of the food. We loved the hearty breakfasts, so went for the afternoon tea and cakes and an evening meal. The cupcake and banana cake I tried was so freshly baked they were still warm and better and more delicious than you would get in any hummingbird shop or fancy bakery. The evening meal again was of a much higher standard than you would expect from a coastal town hotel of this calibre. I ordered the home made vegetable soup and had the duck for mains, we shared some desserts, they were all amazing and presented beautifully. I cannot recommend the food highly enough. The overall experience was so unexpected and is wonderful value. We also loved the coastal walks and visiting the quaint villages nearby, this area has so much to offer. We are booking again for late May Bank Holiday weekend. Thank you West Rocks. You rock :-)

Fantasic Leek and Potato soup with shredded leek in it for starter, Best Roast Beef I have had when eating out in as long as I can remember and then a taster plate of all the deserts.
Attentive, friendly staff and great view across to the sea, makes this a top place for sunday lunch when in Eastbourne - definitely will go back.

Just stayed at the West Rocks Hotel which is located on the seafront, commanding wonderful views of the sea and the south downs. The hotel staff were exceptionally welcoming with nothing too much trouble, the rooms have been renovated to a high standard. Breakfast was wonderful with a full choice. We also partook a luxury afternoon tea - of course one has to when by the sea. What a splendid array of sandwiches and cakes - the carrot cake was the best I've ever had. A big thank you to all the staff who made us feel very welcome and a massive thank you to Steve and Chris the owners. Well done on your new adventure - Can't wait to return .
