I would not rate this as a five-star hotel we had a room with a balcony that was shoddy the room itself was tired and needed redecorating same with the bathroom I think this hotel is overpriced for what it is breakfast is ok nothing exceptional

The hotel looks tired and in need of refurb,the suite was dated and bed lumpy, cracked tiles in bathroom. Not what i eould expect from a 5* hotel. The service, however was exemplary!

Lovely friendly checkin. The room was very spacious with wardrobe space. It was very clean and excellent location for the Congress Theatre. Will definiately be back!

Maybe Grand by name but not so much in other places, our room was nice and a good size but needed a thorough clean, the walls had lots of dust and cobwebs on them, the facilities in the room did not quite match up to the hotels 5star rating, no iron or ironing board in the room, not enough plug sockets (one had a cheap white four plug extension cable connected to it), no mini bar, a fun sized TV and the bath and shower were very dated (shower curtain does not scream 5star to me) all in all a bit underwhelming.
Indoor swimming pool was just ok and the jacuzzi jets were comical (definitely needs an upgrade).
We stayed for two nights including breakfast, which on the first day was fantastic (full English) sadly let down by the second days efforts, all I asked for was 2 soft boiled eggs but when they arrived they were well over cooked, I asked for a replacement which was accommodated straight away but this time they massively undercooked the eggs (I know sometime you can get slightly runny whites if you have a soft boiled egg but these were still translucent) in the end I gave up as we had to pack for check out.
The Grand Hotel is a lovely hotel and well worth a visit but the finer touches really need to be looked at in my opinion if they want to maintain a 5star facility and service.

Fabulous building in the old decadent style with some great Edwardian / Victorian architecture. Really friendly and accommodating staff. A heated outdoor pool is a nice touch too.

Nice stay at the Grand. Good location by the beach. Room quite cramped, be worth getting a sea view but was fine for one night. No hotel.com upgrade offered.

From arrival to departure everything was effort on behalve of the Staff. Food in the Garden Restaurant was superb with excellent Chefs. Comfort was great as were the room. I look forward to my next trip.

Another great stay at the Grand in Eastbourne. The only slight issue was the breakfast on the first day. The orders came wrong and late. We spoke to the manager about our experience and he took it off the bill which was appreciated.
