Attentive, helpful staff and peaceful ambience made for a very relaxed and enjoyable lunch at The Grand. The food was tasty and freshly prepared, the service unhurried yet efficient. Tea was served in silver tea pots with offers to help pour if required. The guest we had brought along in her wheelchair felt totally at ease and access to the hotel and disabled toilet was very easy. We will definitely call in again.

Great location (definitely recommend the rooms with sea views), excellent food & comfy beds. It's an old building with very high ceilings but on a wet & windy day in November we found our room & all the public areas warm & cosy. The health club/spa facilities were very busy on the days we were there which is great for the hotel & proves it's popular but to enjoy more peace & quiet we ended up using the facilities v late in the evening. I think we may have just been unlucky but v noisy floorboards in the room above us & in areas of our room detracted from an otherwise quiet & relaxing environment.

Elegant, comfortable, spacious hotel with very welcoming & attentive staff. I stayed for a weekend with others on an organised trip. The bed was very comfortable, the food was excellent and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

Had a one night stay at the Grand and it was lovely. All the staff were polite, professional and very friendly- not just to those of us staying at the hotel but others visiting the spa or restaurants.
Things were done properly and as they should be and we could tell that staff had good training. All the small touches matter.
The room was clean and comfortable and quiet. The only one small gripe we had was that getting all we needed at breakfast was slow and a bit chaotic but the food and drinks during our stay were very good.
We will be back.

I took my mum here for afternoon tea for her birthday. It was a hot day and we were hoping to sit outside but we weren't given that option. We also weren't able to park in the car park so had to pay for parking nearby, which was slightly annoying.

The afternoon tea was nicely presented and tasted good too. The waitress serving us was friendly and attentive.

The only thing i didn't like was the decor, very dated and chairs not the same height as the table, meaning we had to bend down to enjoy our afternoon tea, which becomes back breaking after a while.

We would attend again as the food was very good! They were also happy to take photos!

One day stay can sometimes not be enough in such nice surroundings and the hospitality of all the staff .Shame I had to moan about the Wi Fi ! Anyway if that is all I had to complain about then life is good and if I may just say whilst the hotel is really GRAND like it’s name if the funds are available the Grden Restaurant is in some need of refurbishment around the ceiling areas - I hope these comments are. Not taken in the wrong contextYou have a lovely hotel that needs all the TLC it can get and afford.

I spent four days with my partner at the Grand in early November 2018. Everything about the hotel was excellent, very comfortable rooms, friendly and welcoming staff, very good food. I have no hesitation in recommending the Grand.

My wife & I got married near by so I wanted to surprise my new wife. We arrived in a luxury car which the Grand had helped arrange late after our wedding. They gave us a lovely welcome & had put rose petals & strawberries dipped in chocolate in the room. Thank you to all the staff at the Grand, Eastbourne for making the beginning of our honeymoon so special . With top class fine dining & facilities you ask for more . The Grand is definitely five star

A stunning first impression of the building as we drove in, even on a rainy evening. A polite and helpful doorman took care of our luggage and parking. The interior was equally impressive. People were just leaving after a special afternoon tea when there had been an orchestra playing. We were sorry to have missed it! There were comfortable chairs by a warm fire. The corridors and stairways were wide and gave the impression of spaciousness. Our room was large and very clean, the bathroom had all you require. The décor and furnishings were not modern, but comfortable. The hotel has an indoor pool and spa in the basement which unfortunately we did not have time to use. The dinner did not meet our expectations. I would visit this hotel again. Eastbourne made a good centre for visiting Brighton, Battle and Hastings.

I felt like I was stepping back in time with the large receiving rooms, sweeping staircases, large ornate oil paintings and long carpeted corridors. The hotel is located across the street from the sea. The grounds are beautiful. The Garden Restaurant serves pretty good food and is casual (shirt with collar required but jackets are not).

The hotel is very nice for family stay.
Room is pretty big for family stay. It has a kid playroom where you can leave your kids there for 2 hours.
Also, if your room has a full sea-view, you can see the sunrise which is stunning.

I can not really fault our stay. The hotel itself is very grand, the room was lovely, breakfast excellent and cocktails in the bar outstanding! The spa area was small but nice, and the massage excellent.

We were very lucky to have chosen this location as our “base of operations” for our recent UK vacation. Traveling with an 8 year old boy and staying in hotels is not always an exciting prospect but from the moment we checked in and he was given a special backpack with a cap, a frisbee and a water bottle our son was on board. When they threw in the milk and cookie at bed time it was the icing on the cake. A beautifully well appointed hotel in an ideal location. Excellent staff who care about the guests and modern amenities in an obviously older and historic building. Loved our stay and will be back.

I have stayed in many hotels in Eastbourne over the years, since I first went there with my parents in the 1940s, and, although a number have been really nice, the Grand is the best. It is the only 5 star hotel in the town and justifies its rating, as the bedrooms are excellent, the public rooms and restaurants splendid, the staff friendly, helpful and efficient and the food exceptional. It is noticeable that the exterior is kept in a very good condition, the location could hardly be bettered and the car parking very convenient.

Obviously the prices are higher than one finds in the other hotels in the town, but they are justified. I just wish that we could afford them every time!

Just the one night, down to my hometown for a 10 year anniversary of the passing of a good friend.
Managed a space outside which os always a bonus however the doormen will valet park for you.
The usual fast check in and up to a junior suite (unexpected upgrade) with huge bed, lounge area, antique desk & captains chair and large bathroom. All immaculate, the ever present slightly musty smell is just the age of the building and adds to the experience in my opinion.
Great nights sleep, up early for a walk along the seafront and into the dining room for the best buffet breakfast in the UK. Not only os pretty much everything available to help yourself to, if you want omelettes or pancakes or kedjeree, they'll cook it fresh. Even the coffee (just filter in an old fashioned silver coffee pot for one) is delicious - and I own a coffee shop!
Next time I'm back in Eastbourne there is only one place I'll be staying.
