I treated myself for my birthday and took my sister to Eastbourne for a night. We had afternoon tea which would have been enough food until morning but we were greedy and went out for dinner later on. A mistake! What a treat. From being greeted by the concierge and having our cases taken off us so we could see the town until our room was ready to the little pots of honey brought to me in the night because of my indigestion - the service was excellent. The hotel is grand in the old, days-gone-by sense but the rooms are updated and extremely comfortable. I have never, ever been anywhere with such excellent pillows. I would return just for them. The afternoon tea was delicious; the breakfast in the vast restaurant was also delicious. There is a delightful indoor pool which I didn't manage to visit. Next time, definitely. There are good offers if travelling there on a Sunday which makes such a comfortable night of very good value. If you want a special night or two away in a delightful seaside town, I do recommend The Grand.

We had a really nice stay. Easy to park. Great location. No rushing around, nothing too much bother, comfortable rooms, friendly helpful staff and actually a reasonable price for a top class hotel. It was like stepping back in time to how service should be.

What can I say about this amazing place that hasn't already been said? It's beautiful, impeccably clean with beds that are the most comfortable I have ever slept in. It has that smell of aged culture you can only get from years and years of, well, culture.

The breakfast was wonderful and the overall feeling was one of luxury and old money. Even relaxing in big chairs in front of the fireplace on the entrance floor was an experience to remember.

You simply have to put this place on your bucket list.

Always enjoy staying at the grand anytime during the year. This weekend was my sons Christmas party, for friends and family. He treats all of us to this lovely weekend (about 20 guests) where we all catch up on each other and enjoy the weekend. A big thank you John as usual a much appreciated weekend and an enjoyable one.

The ambiance, service and location are perfect. I recently visited a friend who was staying at the Grand, Eastbourne for a week and spent one night there as eating in the dining room.
I was more than pleasantly suprised and wondered why I had not discovered this gem before!

Wonderful service and attention to the little touches that makes a visit memorable.
The food was excellent with much choice and I enjoyed the the quiet , unobtrusive service with attention to detail.
My only comment is why I have not done this before! I live in Brighton where there is also a Grand Hotel , but the one in Eastbourne is head and shoulders a better experience.

We had our wedding reception at the hotel. The wedding planner was excellent. We had afternoon tea for our guests, everything was organised and run perfectly. Our stay overnight in a sea view room was very comfortable.

A superbly-organised weekend of events with the Grand's usual high standards. We have signed up for the same event in 2019, as did several other guests. The New Years's Eve celebrations are also to be recommended.

If you are a fan of the Pasadena Roof Orchestra then this weekend is a must but for the band and the dancing couple alone. The hotel is glamorous but the weekend was poorly managed. The Mirabel restaurant menu looked to be good value if you wanted lunch in the hotel, but a catered weekend for around 120 seemed beyond the chef team. The sheer numbers seemed to overwhelm the breakfast team as well. This is the fourth year of the event, but going slightly downhill for the price. The location is superb and you could not fault the arrival team.

The hotel is wonderful and the staff are extremely friendly and cannot do enough to help you. The rooms are fantastic and spar facilities great. Molten Brown products in the bathroom and luxurious bedding plus complimentary newspapers in the morning.

We were in a very relaxed mood and were made to feel welcome by the staff. We sampled both restaurants and in fact we were happiest with the Garden Restaurant as the food was just as good as the other and the service was equally good. The table arrangement suited us better.

We stayed at the hotel for only 1 night. We had afternoon tea which was lovely and breakfast the following morning. Cannot fault either meal. The bed was softer than I prefer but comfortable nonetheless.

We visited for our wedding anniversary for 2 nights. Service was fantastic and the hotel was a good old fashioned hotel.

The rooms are clean and warm, the pool was lovely and quiet and also very warm.

Make sure you explore the hotel and read the history all around the hotel.

Old fashioned hotel with great service and a good breakfast. Make sure you request a new room. Our old room was not good value for money . Spa facilities are old but not bad. My wife really enjoyed her massage with bamboo sticks!

I stayed here with my girlfriend for a weekend.

The gym and spa facilities were on the small side. The gym equipment definitely needs looking at. Some of it was a little dusty and they need to make a few repairs here and there. But the pool was relaxing, and the service was good. Towels, robes and flip-flops were available from the desk. At the time, the steam room was out of action, but I don't know how long for.

The rooms are a little dated, but classically decorated and they had lots of nice touches (like Molton Brown toiletries and Birchall teas). It was a comfortable room and overall, we both enjoyed our stay. This is a classic grand hotel by the sea and it has many charms. The service in the bar and restaurant was absolutely fantastic and the breakfast in the morning was amazing.

We have stayed at the grand many times although it has been a while since we last stayed. It's old style elegance and it's 5* reputation never lets us down. The staff are extremely professional and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food and service is second to none. Many so called 5* hotels could learn alot from them. It's not a budget hotel, but you get what you pay for.

Last minute booking for 1 night dinner, bed and breakfast. Plenty of parking at front of hotel. Arrived several hours prior to check in time of 3 pm but room ready for us. Had upgraded to executive sea view room as special occasion. Room amenities good with bottled water, slippers and robe, and molten brown toiletries. No iron in room but those could be arranged via housekeeping very easily.
Bars - as the hotel was only half full the bars were really quite with little atmosphere. Cocktails were to die for as were the liquor coffees.
For dinner we chose to eat in the Mirabelle restaurant which was excellent and had a reasonable variation of menu which would suit most palates. Breakfast was taken in the garden restaurant and again was excellent with plenty of choices.
The staff throughout and without exception were warm and welcoming and made us feel very much at ease. I had booked as a surprise birthday treat for my husband and a birthday card handed to him on arrival by the reception staff made a lovely gesture which was very thoughtful and much appreciated.
I would totally recommend this hotel if you are looking for somewhere special to stay and we will Definately return some time in the future
