Popped in after a long walk, pub was very busy but managed to get two stools at the bar. Staff very friendly nice pint of John Smiths, did not eat but the food that came out looked very tasty and there were a lot of empty plates.

I popped in here on two consecutive evenings between Xmas & New Year. Great pub, fantastic atmosphere with very friendly staff. They made it very special and welcoming. Cheers

Brilliant time had last night with our friends. We came from Rochester, Kent to celebrate the New Year in Eastbourne and weren’t disappointed.All staff were very friendly and there was a lively happy atmosphere. Special mention to the dedication of the DJ who overcame adversity such as spillages etc to keep the music flowing. Thanks to all. Amanda (with the necklace lights!)

What a fantastic place! We loved it so much that we had both lunch and dinner here today. Great location near the pier. Cozy pub with real fire and super friendly staff. Fantastic menu. As someone who has recently become vegetarian I really struggle to eat out but this was a joy! A brilliant vegan menu accompanies a standard menu and there was so much choice. I had the vegan chilli which was delicious and beautifully presented. My husband ( who is a fully paid up member of the meat eating fraternity) was equally impressed with the standard menu and said his dinner was the best meal out he’d had in ages. Literally can’t praise this place highly enough.

I have lived local for a good few years and never been to this pub, I went there over the weekend (to be honest it was second choice) Wow what a great surprise, although the place was very busy the staff were very welcoming and courteous greeting us as soon as we walked through the door and acknowledged us accordingly.
The service was great from the start, when we ordered food we were told that there would be a slight delay due to a large party arriving which was no problem and nice to be told rather than just left.When the food arrived our small party of 4 could not have been happier with the portion size presentation and the quality of the food, and again I have to say the great was great. The menu was extensive with one of the best vegan menus I have seen in many of the restaurants I have visited. All in all really good food very friendly staff and great service 10/10 👍

Pre Christmas meeting & meal. Good polite service. Excellent range of meals; choice of burgers if you want basic but also wide choice of main courses including lamb shank, crispy halloumi & pork belly. The meat is from local butcher.

First time here. FABULOUS. Staff were great, nicely presented. The only place I have been to recently where they actually know how to serve a Gin. Brilliant atmostshere excellent value for good quality food. I would give more that 5 stats if I could. Wish I loved closer.

Spent quite a few hours in this pub during my stay in Eastbourne. Brilliant for dogs. Greene King so can’t go wrong with decent IPAs.

A fun evening of music and Dickens readings, made perfect by terrific Crown and Anchor buffet. Staff very friendly and keen to make sure we were well provided with food and drink.

Went to this pub as a large group for an evening meal. Staff were very friendly and were happy to accommodate us all by moving tables together. The food was excellent. Tasted home cooked and there were a friendly and busy feel there.

We went for an family meal on a Friday evening. We arrived to a newly refurbished pub. Whoever oversaw the renovation has really though about finishing touches and really has completely changed this pub. The decor is lovely and to top it off they have the most amazing Christmas decorations (not tacky), worth going to see if you love Christmas.
We had booked so has a table laid with name places and also crackers (beautiful tree decoration inside, not cheap crackers). The food was beautifully cooked and well presented. It was also very reasonable priced.
The drinks were good. Great selection and fairly priced.
On the evening there was a band playing. Great songs and a good choice in band. It worked and wasn’t took dominating. There was an area for dancing for those who wanted to.
Last but definitely not least the staff were lovely. Everyone was smiley and friendly and couldn’t do enough to help. Service felt genuine.
