We had a wonderful event at the Crown and Anchor today. Staff were absolutely fantastic, food was amazing and the experience was very positive. Will definitely use again.

Unfortunately 2 of us had steaks and they were nearly cold by the time they got to the table. Was surprised to see them served on a COLD slate. Another person had sausage and mash, the sausages were overcooked and burnt on one side. Carrots and peas were supposed to be served with that order but only peas appeared. The fourth person ordered steak pie and mash, once again the pie was over cooked consequently turned out to be very dry. One of the steaks was replaced, still not as hot as it should have been, and again on a very cold slate. Had meals here before which had been ok but wont be rushing back this time. Hot plates, hot meals not too much to ask for.

Nice atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff. A good range of beers and the food was excellent. Very busy at weekends so you might need to book?

Popped in for Sunday lunch and the pub is very welcoming. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Food menu has something for everyone. We had Pork belly and roast beef sunday lunches and both were excellent. The pork belly was especially delicious, perfectly cooked and both were served with a good selection of vegetables including cabbage, carrots, swede, broccoli and roast potatoes or mash.
Glad we chose this for our dinner, so much better than the 'chain pubs'.

was in eastbourn for a few days.found the pub first night we were there.great staff were very friendly and made to feel welcome.food looked very good menu had a good selection.a sports room to watch football etc.sat in there one nightand watched the locall pool team play another local team great atmosphere all pals at the end of the night a 5-5 draw was a fair result. would highly reccomend this pub.ps live entertainment at weekends.

Staff very friendly. Good let you all down. We had chilli con carne no kidney beans bland and looked like it was blended to a smooth consistency like baby food. Not great will give it one more go o food .

What a great pub. We were here for the weekend and dropped in here for a drink on the Friday - but stayed because of the great live music and atmosphere. Ended up coming here Saturday to watch the football and stayed here for dinner. Sunday - after a very disappointing experience in another pub in the town - to watch the Ryder Cup and stayed and had a fab roast dinner. Would definitely recommend because of the staff, the atmosphere, the food and the whole community/social spirit of this pub. Well done Crown & Anchor - you are a credit to Eastbourne - Sharon & Trish xxxx

We popped in here for a cold beer and ended up staying for lunch. We ordered one of the daily specials - the lamb burger which came with chips and coleslaw. It was really good! The beer was cold and the service excellent.

Lovely warm welcoming pub live music both nights we visited and food looked so good first night we went back next evening to eat. Be early though or book as was full on both nights. Had the fish and chips was lovely and good size portions. Great pub great staff great atmosphere worth a visit for sure.
