The hotel is a little bit tired and could do with refurbishment, however the room was a good size, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was very good. Also the staff were friendly and helpfull. We found it to be very good value for money and would return if in the area.

The grand Victorian building, internally speaking is a bit tired but as a relatively budget stay in Eastbourne, is great value. Bed linen clean and fresh, staff excellent and all were very friendly. In the morning a cooked breakfast plus usual cereals etc and fruit. I stayed solo whilst in town attending a music concert and would happily stay again.
Parking available at rear and is cheap but camera monitored for payments so make sure to tell the check in staff.

After a long drive from Scotland it was good to arrive. Hotel is dated, our room was small and creeky. You had to hold shower head as it didn't stay in place itself. Not helpful with a broken wrist. We had booked dinner bed and breakfast. Dinner sample menu online was in fact bar menu. We didn't like look of menu so we ended up paying to eat in bar. Breakfast was lovely and so was the view out the bedroom window.

Views from the bedroom of the shimmering sea in the morning sun were spectacular.

All of the team were great, but Nicci was an absolute star.

The welcome from the staff was cheerful and the location was good. Unfortunately the road works just outside the hotel does not help the ascetics of the property. Inside the hotel everything looks tired, the room had an amazing view, although the bed matress was uncomfotable and you could feel the springs as little protection/comfort on top. The bathroom had a bath, although the toilet was almost propped against one was making it awkward to sit on, and the basin had been broken and made good with a mastic seal to hold the bowl in place.

The hotel was a bit rundown but thay have a work force doing lots of work and because of that some of the hotel was closed but an exalent location right opposite the pier and about a couple of minutes away from the town centre there is parking in the car park out the back but it's £6 per day but the food is nice and all self service but I can't coment about the evening meal as I went out for mine but all in all a nice break.

Clean, great staff but needs updating! Very friendly staff, great location. The landing doors slamming constantly, light smell of cigarettes in the hallways on more than one occasion. The first time I stayed I was given a very small room with a gigantic tv, covering half the room. The second a good sized room.

Incredible Staff 😊 The staff were amazing,Sarah,Nicci and Abbie went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and honestly helped me in what was a couple of very testing and difficult couple of days personally. The difference it makes to go to somewhere at the end of the day and feel welcome! Thanks guys x

Good value for money. Fair price considering the hotel, in general, is in need of a make over. That said our bedroom provided a comfortable bed, all basic requirements were provided. Bathroom satisfactory. Staff very helpful. In total we were happy with our one night stay.

Lovely stay in a grand old hotel, great location. The hotel is an old hotel so it looks a bit 'tired' but I think that is what you expect from one of these grand old hotels, if you want a modern hotel book a modern hotel. The staff on reception were lovely and helpful, There are two lifts, one is quite small but they both were working and much better than carrying cases up to floor 4!
We had a fantastic sea view room, the room and bathroom were both clean.
Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice.
The only thing the hotel should highlight is, because of the roadworks you need to go the wrong way up a one way street to get to the car park. We kept driving around thinking there must be a different entrance, there isn't! Ignore the No Entry sign. Great location, right on the front by the pier with an easy walk to town, I will be back!

Our first time at this hotel, although we come to Eastbourne regularly. We were given a free upgrade to sea view which made our 20th wedding anniversary very special. Our dog was made to feel welcome too and was allowed in all areas. We loved everything about this hotel. Yes the decor is a little rough in places but it adds to the Victorian feel of the old building. Highly recommended.

Only one way out for wheelchair user., on this occasion the road was closed so unable to park car in front of hotel which isn't fault of hotel, but a ramp at rear of hotel for their car park would be good, as it was a bit difficult riding in the road to get to rear of hotel.
Staff are always friendly and recognise you from previous visits. Nothing is a problem for them, especially the restaurant staff

Hang out there for four days; it's in a prime spot, price and location-wise, and it's a really old hotel.
