Fabulous location of hotel , right by pier. Double bed comfortable, room a good size. Kettle, tea and coffee provided. Staff helpful. Apologized for lack of cleanliness in room and offered some money back. Bar drinks and food and restaurant.
Don’t go to room 444 as right by lift and can hear the lift announcing the floor as if in your room so loud. Cleanliness a problem. Windy so door rattled unless you wedge it with paper.

Staff were very helpful and very friendly I dont think this hotel should be rated for disabled access if u are in a wheelchair .
Their lifts are very old .
Can.just about fit a wheelchair in .the.lift.
The only. Disabled access is through the dining .room
I think.it could be very annoying to other guest if they are trying to have a meal and u have wheelchairs coming in and out .
That was the only downside .

Mother and Daughter Trip
Amazing location, right on the beach front.
Awesome history to the building, it still holds lots of it's stories and historic content to it which makes it an interesting place to be.
Breakfast was amazing! They had a good selection of food, hot and cold. As well as gluten free and dairy free alternatives. Amazing view over the beach as we ate. Staff were accommodating when we asked for a new fan. Bedroom floor hadn't been hoovered, even though the beds were very easy to move ir was obvious the cleaners didn't bother moving them. Everything else was generally clean. Sash windows that weren't that soundproof. Lifts are fantastic and historic but could do with a little refurbishment inside.

Brilliant location , excellent staff and very knowledgeable. Good value for money.
Really love the position of the hotel and we were lucky to have a Seaview. All the staff we met were so friendly and helpful. Also the hotel has its own car park which is a bonus.
I feel there could be some updating of the paint work both externally and internally but I do feel they are trying their best.

Excellent location and great value for money. The room was warm and comfortable, with the heating already on when we arrived. Not sure if it can be adjusted manually, but overall, a solid and pleasant place to spend the evening.

Our room was directly above The Belgian Cafe which had live music playing (a band) which was extremely loud and started early afternoon and went on till late. The room was overall nice and spacious, had to ask for extra pillows as we were only provided with 1 each and there was no stirrers for the tea/coffee. There was road works outside the hotel but didn’t disturb us, just took away from the view we had a little. The reception staff were lovely and accommodating. Overall a nice hotel to stay at but wouldn’t recommend the room directly above The Belgian Cafe.

Be careful of the parking restrictions
We were fined by staying for an hour in the parking space with automatic camera. The receptionist did say we could leave after unpacking but did not tell us about parking enforcement

Very old hotel high ceilings. It is clean.

The hotel is a very old building, made up of multiple adjacent properties, with a spectacular amount of ground floor hosting space.
Parking, in their own rear car park, was just £6, a bonus in Eastbourne. We got the last space.
Our room was large with a high ceiling as it was on the first floor, but at the back, with a large bathroom, complete with a full bath and shower over. Spotlessly clean and comfortable but in a tired building. Fan was provided as we’re in a heat wave.
Table de hote dinner was excellent for £22 per head and house wine was the same price for a bottle. Huge dining room, and exceptionally quick service.
Slept well, but you will possibly hear noise from the floor above.
Breakfast was also excellent, huge range on the unlimited buffet.

It's a pity they don't spend money on doing this place up. I stayed in the torbay hotel last year also once owned by coast to coast hotels and they share the same faded grandour. The public rooms were once magnificent spaces by the look of it but the weather has taken its toll on the facade which needs work

But the bed was comfortable and I slept well despite the heatwave and had a desk fan. No air con here. Two ancient looking lifts and one of them tiny. You can take pets and the staff were nice enough. They have a turn on twice a week to entertain the mostly elderly coach tourists. I didn't eat so have no idea of the menu. The bar shuts early. Value for money but faded.
