15 minute walk from train station, a few minutes walk to main shopping area. Hotel has excellent position, friendly staff, seaview room excellent, the odd creaking floorboard added to its charm. Recommended for solo travellers.

Hotel is perfectly fine for the price I paid. Check in was quick and friendly, room condition was fine and shower worked ok. No noise from other guests. I tried both the breakfast and the evening meal. Breakfast was your average buffet but I was impressed by the dinner quality and options. This is an old hotel that will be getting refurbed later in the year. It should be even better after that.

Ok It was right on the seafront which was lovely. We had a great sea view It was tired and dated, the whole corridor smelled like cigarette smoke when we got out of the tiny lift, our room smelt like cigarette smoke.

The hotel was convenient for us but we would not stay again. When windy the windows rattle loudly and the door to our room didn’t feel very safe/secure.
There’s a reason they only show “superior rooms” on the website - the standard ones are sub-standard, not very large, mould in the bathroom, musty smell and the property could do with some general improvements throughout (stained carpets, walls, ceiling).
Staff pleasant and helpful.

The manager at the reception has saved our trip. We have find ourselves in difficult situation because of
booking.com however the lady she has managed to organise everything. We where very pleased considering the fact that the hotel vas busy due to easter holidays . It was my husbands birthday too so that was extremely important for us to have a good time. The view from tbe window was amazing, staff at the front desk where amazing, staff at the restaurant working so hard and always smiling. This was our second trip to that hotel and we hope to come back. P.s hope you enjoyed the chocolates 💙

Enjoyed the sights of Eastbourne but hotel room was a big let down! The food was very good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The view from our room was lovely, with a view of the sea and the pier and the Carpet Gardens. Very good position for the town. We also managed to get parked in the hotel every time with a cost of £6 per day, which was preferably a lower cost than parking on roads nearby. The room was very run down and there were cobwebs on the windows in the bathroom and on the coving of the ceiling in our bedroom. There were hardly any hooks to hang clothes on and nowhere in the bathroom to place your toiletries etc. The bed was comfortable but the room on the whole was very tired looking. It looked like it hadn’t been decorated in years. To be fair, the staff addressed the cobwebs by hoovering them but apart from the that, staying there was very disappointing. There was no housekeeping apart from staff replenishing the teas, coffees and milk. We’ve stayed in the Burlington many times before, and we know many rooms have been upgraded. However, we were put on the 4th floor where we know the rooms have seen better days. We asked for a 2nd or 3rd floor room instead, but were told that they were booked up, but the hotel was quite empty! Would not go back again unless were assured of a clean and refurbished room

Pros: friendly staff, hotel in a great location for the seafront, spacious rooms, cheap rates.

Cons: dirty carpets and floors, housekeeping appears minimal, hard beds, building needs quite a bit of maintenance.

Didn't try the food here so can't comment on it. In my opinion the biggest and easiest way to improve the guest experience is to improve the standard of cleaning in guest rooms. It really is poor and makes a bad impression. Hairs in the bathroom, dirty carpets, dirty bins, cups not properly cleaned etc. I'm not surprised other reviews have mentioned vermin. I was so worried about that the whole time I stayed. The rooms need a deep clean. Only if that improved would I stay again.

Stayed in the superior room and had a fantastic view of the sea. Staff were nice and friendly and I loved the somersby cider they recommended I try; I was hooked! Bar Manager/Supervisor was very nice and professional and remembered my order which was always a pint of Somersby cider. I would have given 5 srars if they offered room service (although they were kind enough to allow me to bring up my food to the room it would have been easier and nicer to be able to order from the room. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Slight blemishes to the decor.. I like the close proximity to the beach and local shops and city centre. The breakfast was very tasty and a lot of choices. The toilet had a stain inside. Also the bathroom door couldn't close properly. The wallpaper was lifting away on the walls. There were no usb sockets to charge your mobile phone. There were two patern ceiling wallpaper styles and not consistent. On the main stairs between the ground and first floor, there was a tea bag left on the stairs from Sunday through till Monday when we left. It takes a while for the hot water to reach the shower. approx 3 minutes.

Very good Breakfast was good.staff extremely helpful and friendly. Room was good size. Bathroom was ridiculously small and difficult to use.
Bar opens at 3 o'clock. Used to open at midday.
Hotel needs background music as it is too quiet throughout.
