Pleasantly surprised, would rebook
First time staying, I mainly booked as the hotel is dog friendly. Was really pleased with the service, location, breakfast and overall cost. Reception were nice and always helpful, held our bags in a secure locked room after checking out so we could explore easier before getting the train home.
Room was spacious and clean, although dated, we had no major issues as we were out most of the days. My only complaint would be to do with the bathroom which was in need of a refresh, like the sink and sealant cracking. Also the blind needs replacing, the bathroom window was directly next to the shower head/bath and the blind looked like it had been cut about halfway so you could see right in/out. The window looked to lead to a fire escape so saw no passersby but if I was staying longer or had children/vulnerable family staying i'd have raised the issue in person rather than make do.

It was our second time in this hotel. Its value for the price, good location .The staff was friendly quick check in and check out. I will visit again in future.

Lovely view, excellent food in a historic hotel
The hotel is about 170 years old some of it feels original but that’s the beauty of the building.
The staff were excellent, we had both dinner s 3 course meal and breakfast both were excellent with lots of choices available. We had a lovely sea view with the pier The windows at the front need replacement but there is a refurbishment due in 2026

The widows were dirty, we couldn't see the sea view which we'd paid extra for.

Eventually our 74year old family member had to climb on a chair to switch a switch off which was around 7ft high

Had to park on street behind the hotel. As we had a Blue badge it was okay but saw a number of cars with parking tickets on.

Hotel bar was great & the place looked clean & tidy albeit a little worn out.

Room cleanliness needed improvement, mould, dust, old hairs, stains on carpet. Staff on reception were great, knowledgeable and very friendly. We did not have breakfast or drink in the bar

No heating in room but small heater provided. It seemed tone cold throughout the hotel. One night in three entertainment which was poorly promoted and poorly attended as a concequence. Felt sorry for Andrew the singer. Saw nothing anywhere in the hotel informing clients of a quiz.

Burlington Hotel has a fantastic location and is just a short walk to the bus stop; we will be back.

When we arrived the room was COLD as the radiator was not working, but as soon as we reported this the staff provided an electric heater. The radiator started working, then the room was too hot.

Ideal location but rooms in need of a good clean
The room was fine especially the 'extra' room with the 3rd bed for my son.
The en-suite was not in a good state with the toilet seat looking like it would fall off at any moment and the there was dust and muck on most surfaces that would have been removed with a proper clean
