The breakfast was fantastic. The view from our room was wonderful and the room was spacioust The beds were comfortable and liked the coffee facilities the hotel is so convenient to visit the pier and picking up the sightseeing buses and Dotto train. Great to have the restaurant and the bar for meals. Good menus in both. Nice to have both lifts working again! Very friendly and helpful staff Perhaps extend the booking out time to 11am,giving more time to enjoy a final breakfast.

Very pleasant which was helped by excellent weather. Size of bedroom. Bedroom sash windows in desperate need of redecoration. Size of bed.
Plates for breakfast not big enough.

Great location, great views, big room after upgrading. No air-conditioning, whole place in desperate need of some TLC. Fly screens would be great.

Welcoming staff, good breakfast, hotel needs updating. Friendly welcome from the reception team. Easy to check in. Very friendly and welcoming bar staff, Joe was a great bar man. Very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast, plenty of choice, very tasty. A bit tired and dated. Sadly we had the dirty towels left in the bathroom from the previous occupants and the cups and spoons were still dirty, had not been washed properly.
However it was good value for money and we were only here one night and it served its purpose.

We booked this hotel because the rates had gone up considerably in the usual hotel we book. We have stayed in this hotel before, as hotels go it is clean and staff are friendly. The room was ok but the bed/mattress was far too soft and springy. The breakfast was fine with a good assortment of food.

Room was tired, floors uneven & super squeaky & shower left a lot to be desired but clean & comfortable & affordable for an overnight visit (sea view made up for room condition). Reception staff very polite but LOUIS, front of house at breakfast, was an absolute credit to the hotel considering breakfast was very busy and they appeared to be very understaffed.

Staff very friendly and a good size room at a really good price. Property does need freshening up but you’ve got to look past that due to the age of the building. Good history behind it and nicely stocked little bar. Great location over looking the beach and the pier only a minute away. Would certainly revisit

A pleasant and convenient stay, though the property could use some updates. The hotel had a great location, comfortable rooms (it was a warm sunny weekend and the rooms were very warm; but unsure what it would be like in the winter), and friendly staff who were always helpful. Some areas of the hotel felt a little dated and could benefit from refurbishment - like creaky floorboards. But then it was built in 1855 so there is a reason for the creaks.

Faded grandeur We loved the location looking out to the pier. Our room was clean, warm and comfortable. It was very good value The exterior of the building sadly looked very neglected.Old photographs must have been used for the booking site
