Majestic Victorian building right on the sea front and so close to the pier

I would recommend this hotel . We loved it from start to finish it’s been a great staycation ! The receptionist was so friendly and checked us in . We didn’t like our first room but she quickly upgraded us to a delightful sea view room with stunning views ! It was worth paying an extra £25 a night . The breakfast dining room is very grand and there’s a good selection of cereals fruit and cooked food . The waiting staff are very good and attentive . I really liked the blue bar and we had a bar meal whiich was very reasonable and the food was good . Parking is limited but we got street parking outside . The location of the hotel couldn’t be better to get to bars, restaurants shops and amusements . The sightseeing bus is also close by and well worth the trip . The entertainment has been good and the drinks prices are reasonable. Some areas need a face lift and the lift needs upgrade but everything else has been super !

The hotel was lovely, large and spacious with very high ceilings, the location on the seafront opposite the Pier and only minutes walk to the shops, bars, restaurants and theatres was brilliant. Our room was a standard double at the rear of the hotel on the first floor, it was clean, comfortable and large. The ensuite had a small bath with shower over it, the room had a TV, tea and coffee making facilities, a hair dryer and plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. A bonus was a table and 2 chairs so we had a little seating area which was great.
On the downside staff on reception were not overly friendly or welcoming and on arrival were not particularly informative. There was entertainment in the hotel every night of our stay but we were not informed of this on arrival. The hotel has a car park which is great we pre booked our space via Shearings it costs £6 a day, but when we got there it became clear that it was first come first served as no allocated space was given to us, we were lucky to get a space. The restaurant food was good we were on a half board basis, the choices for evening meal were limited but fine. Breakfast was very good buffet style, your choice of cereals, fruit juice, yoghurt , porridge and croissants, as well as the full English, so fried or scrambled eggs, sausages, bacon, hash browns, tinned plum tomatoes and baked beans, brown or white toast and marmalade or jams. No mushrooms but a small gripe.
The restaurant did not have a wine list and bar staff were lovely but had little knowledge of wines, one waitress when asked what a caprese salad was just said 'I dunno I haven't seen it' with out offering to go and find out for us.
The Burlington overall was very good and we enjoyed our stay, if the reception staff could just be a bit warmer in their welcome and bar and restaurant staff be just a little better trained it could be excellent.

Overall summery is that I would recommend this hotel for a pleasant stay. good sized room offered. friendly staffs. co-operative Check out is 10am which is a bit tight to have morning walk, breakfast and getting ready. Normally other hotels offer 11am in the region which is much better and convenient. Not enough family rooms or triple rooms with seaview. No stair free access at the entrance

Wonderful stay - comfy beds, great staff who are really working hard.. beautiful sea views - I love that its an old building with character - beautiful location - excellent views of the sea from our room!! it was wonderful to sit and look out at the sea and the boats The- staff were absolutely wonderful - they were clearly short staffed - but managed to provide a wonderful service none the less - every single staff member from front desk to maintenance were wonderful It is an older listed building that needs an injection of investment to restore it to its former glory - the entrance does not do it justice, as once inside it is amazing - I would also move the reception to the front doorway so that you see reception as soon as you enter with some beautiful plants, bright opulent colours - and all restored - it could be an absolutely amazing space - it is clear that this is in progress -

Good The staff and location. Outdated rooms and bathrooms, they are all in need of a good lick of paint and bringing up to a reasonable standard for the price.

Good It was impossible for us to have a place in the car park. Pre-booking wasn’t available and even though there were spaces when we arrived, all had been allocated.

Very good We loved the room size and the side room for our daughter was great. Wish more hotels catered with this. Location is lovely. Breakfast could be a bit warmer and the coffee was not good.
