A room for two for not much more than we pay to pitch a tent these days!
Great location by pier and near town. Lots of eateries nearby. Easy to find.
The car park is behind and £6 a night lasting until 3pm on day of checkout.
We took our dog and she was allowed in all areas. There's a designated corner in the dining room.
The room was nice. Better than expected after reading some of the reviews on here. We had tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron and board
There was hand wash and shower gel ..both provided from dispensers. Shower nice and warm. Room very warm. A bit too warm at times but it was about 2° outside.
There was some noise from floorboards.
Decor seen better days in places.
Nice bar
Very friendly and helpful staff
Overall a great stay and much more comfortable than the tent 😁

Staff are friendly and helpful. The room is clean and comfortable. There is parking at the rear of the hotel.
Reasonably priced for the location. Will stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone.

I have stayed twice at this hotel and I’ve had very different experiences both times. The “buffet” breakfast was completely different from 2022 ,as it wasn’t a buffet. I had to wait 10 minutes for somebody to bring me a very small English breakfast as before this arrived, there was just granola and cornflakes. No more fresh bread and all the many things I came back for in 2024. The bathrooms need serious TLC and the floors are very loud but the sea view is worth it .The staff are lovely as before. I was just dissatisfied with the breakfast but everything else was good for the price I paid per night .

Great place to stay, probably the best in Eastbourne that I have stayed. The rooms are excellent, I booked through Groupon and we had a very large seafront room, with 3 windows overlooking the carpet gardens and pier. It had a large comfortable bed, a sofa a brilliant large surround sound TV. A dressing table with tea and coffee, bottled water and biscuits. It even had a coffee machine, with lots of pods, along with a kettle.
It had extra pillows which weren't needed and a iron and ironing board and a very powerful hairdryer.
The bathroom was amazing with a separate shower and bath, really large bathroom and was very warm with a heated towel rail.
It was a very inviting room.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and efficient.
The reception staff booked us in quickly and when we left we were able to leave our luggage in the luggage room.
The breakfast was amazing and the staff in the restaurant are so helpful and friendly to. The breakfast was buffet style, with plenty of tea and coffee and juices, good choice of cereals.
The cooked breakfast was the best I have had in hotel, all cooked well, the eggs, mushrooms, bacon, hash browns, baked beans, plum tomatoes and the sausages were so tasty and seasoned. Couldn't fault it. They never ran out of anything and it was very busy.
It's situated right on the seafront, right near the pier and you only have to walk down Terminus road, which is just down the side of the hotel and you are right in the middle of the shops. Only just down the road from the bus stop and only 20 minutes walk to the station.
Would definitely recommend it to anyone and I would definitely book again. Looking for a week at Easter.
Lovely building Grade II listed.

A 3 star hotel with a 5 star staff. The paint is peeling but so what? The breakfast was awesome. The atmosphere was really friendly. I would definitely stay there again. My 9yr old said it was perfect.

Tired old hotel, seriously in need of renovating. The lift is slower than a geriatric snail, the woodwork and walls all need repainting and the carpet is filthy. A double bed was small and uncomfortable but to be fair the room was clean and the shower hot.

Amazing receptionist that did not mind helping me change the room when I could not lock the door in my room. Will go back next time.

Unfortunately, I need to inform you that this hotel is in need of a refresh. I can't speak for the rooms themselves, but the lobby and the entire ground floor don't quite match up to the images provided on website. However, the location and room pricing are definite pluses. The service and decor could use some improvement.

Very comfortable room with a beautiful sea view. The hotel has been very grand but is now a bit run down in the entrance, lift and communal areas but it has everything you could need.

This is a very nice, old-worldly hotel with modern services at the best spot in Eastbourne: the promenade. The view is fantastic and you only have to cross the road for a stroll along the beach or a swim.
Our room was large but sparsely furnished: all the basics but good quality.
The breakfast was excellent, there’s a bar where you can take away a drink up to your room or sit down to enjoy your drink as well as the view.
The staff are helpful and there’s a large carpark right behind the hotel.

If you're looking for a hotel with a bit of character, lots of history and perfect location, then this is the hotel for you.
The staff go above and beyond ( Jack, you are a true credit to the hotel!) to make you feel welcome and accommodate your needs.
There is no denying the hotel is showing it's age in places but this only adds to its charm. Given it's fascinating history and location this hotel is great value for money and we will come back again!
