Needs some TLC Closeness to where we were visiting and use of car park. Good selection at breakfast The room was a little bit depressing. Needs some updating

Friendly staff / central to everything Friendly staff.
Central to everything.
Plenty of breakfast choice.
Unfortunately the main lift broke down and queues for the smaller one. This was obviously not the fault of the hotel and staff but just an unfortunate thing to occur.

Breakfast was good Sadly one of the lifts was out of order so a long wait to get up to the third floor. We did, however, walked down stairs

Very good value, and good food with plenty of choice. The view of the sea and pier from the bedroom was lovely The car park was not sufficient on the second night of my stay, so I had to park on double yellow lines and keep going outside until a space appeared in the road at 9.30 pm. I'd paid for 2 nights parking when I arrived, and when I left after the second night, the receptionist was loath to give me a refund for the second night, even though there wasn't room in the car park.

A hotel with Character in a lovely location with Fantastic Staff. Breakfast was great staff were brilliant and very helpful. Location was spot on. Hotel was dated but that did add to the character of the hotel. All in all a lovely stay and we would without a doubt stay there again. The one and only downside was that there was just one lift working.

I love this hotel, even though its tired and needs some TLC. The food is really good and lots of variety. The staff are welcoming and very friendly, willing to go above and beyond. We are looking at our next mid week break. The weather was mixed, nothing else.

Love, Love It, but Not for Why You Might Imagine I love this place, but it is NOT for the faint of heart. I love it for all its warts and faults, and the fact that when I stay here, I’m dropped right into the middle of Roald Dahl’s “The Witches.” It is a hotel from truly a bygone era, with the majority of the clientele also from that same era. The elevator barely works, if at all. In the summer, it is absolutely blistering hot in the rooms with no real capability of cooling or ventilating the room. The bathrooms in some of the rooms are right out of the 70’s flick “Taxi Driver”, while others were brought into the modern age recently. The beds are ok, water pressure dubious, at best. The breakfast time is brimming with entertainment as long as you posses that quirky sense of humor and copious amounts of patience. I will forever come back to this hotel as long as they do not renovate. Nowhere else can you get this level of historical cultural inculcation at such a bargain price. Splurge for a seaside view to make your stay truly spectacular.

Lift problems Location and clean Lift not working for whole stay, it was not working when we stayed in spring either. Service lift working but small, when it did reach 4th floor people in it wanting to go to ground floor. Ended up taking luggage down stairs.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Parking available at £6 per night.Had breakfast on each day of our stay which was fine and plentiful. Tiny lift which was just big enough for 2 adults. Was out of order for part of our stay. The adjacent lift was not working at all during our 3 night stay.
We had the superior double with sea view. Room was tired and didn’t feel clean. Bathroom used to have a bath but was permanently covered over so made do with small cubicle shower which was fine. Such a great position but very tired looking after years of underinvestment.
