Staff friendly and helpful. Nice big hotel. Lovely room with nice sea view. Only downside is out of two lifts only the small lift was working. And this is one of their busiest weekends..

Staff we're attentive and friendly very helpful Bar area looked recently done. The breakfast and the dinner was great no issues A bit tired needs the exterior and in the rooms. Need ramps for people with mobility issues. The lift was atrocious doors closing before you get out and only one in action. No disabled toilets for women had to use the gents toilets appreciate the original women's toilets was where the fire was however this needs attention .

Location, food, was excellant, staff were above and beyond. One lift out of order, should have been fixed. I booked three rooms for people with disabilities, need walk in showers I was told we had them booked, only one had a walk in shower, which was not good as had to step up into the shower.

Was ok for a night Perfect location on the sea front. Stayed for Airbourne so was quite handy to have access to free toilets. We knew we couldn't check in until 3 but there was a place to store luggage The room was ridiculously warm with only a small fan and the shower was quite poor, either reasonable but cold or poor flow but warm.

Would definitely return The staff were absolutely fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful. The location is perfect right next to the Pier and sea views. The water pressure at the top floor wasn't great but didnt detract. Could do with a little spruce up decor wise but again, doesnt detract from everything else thats lovely about the place.

The hotel is in a great position and the staff are helpful. However, our bedroom was unbelievable hot to the extent it was impossible to sleep. We did have two fans but it made little difference. The outside of the hotel needs work doing to do as it looks shabby. Do not believe it is a good standard for the price we paid.

We went for the airbourne weekend and the room we booked was extremely comfortable. It was a superior room and had a view over the beach and the sea. Perfect for watching the aeroplanes if we got fed up with the crowds on the beach. The room was very clean on arrival and all the staff we spoke to were extremely helpful. The breakfast is a normal buffet affair and totally acceptable. There are plenty of superb eateries within walking distance as well with cuisines from around the world. The hotel itself is I assume pretty old and as most hotels could do with a little tlc in some respects. Only one of the 2 lifts were working for our entire stay ( the tiniest lift I have ever seen) but I'm sure this will be fixed reasonably soon. So we used the stairs to come down from level 3 and the lift to go up as we aren't very fit. Also be aware that there are no fridges in the room which on a very hot summer stay is a bit of a problem but any other time of year would not be a problem at all. We had temperatures of 30+ degrees for 4 days and survived with a cool box and ice from the local shops. Overall I would recommend a stay here if you want a beachfront hotel. This was our 2nd stay so it must be ok. There is hotel parking out the back which is very busy during the airshow weekend but at £6 a day it's a bargain in these expensive times. It's probably less busy the rest of the year but I'm only guessing. If you like a beach and the pier holiday then you'll like this hotel.

It was a great couple of nights It’s Victorian which is very grand. The rooms are quirky. We had rooms at the front which meant we had a great view. Nothing

Good trip with excellent weather and a free air show over the beach Room was spacious clean and comfortable, but a bit tired, this is reflected in the low price ,staff were helpful and polite ,great location and parking available on site for a small daily fee Not much really ,it’s an old hotel and refurbishment would lead to high prices , good budget hotel

Lovely old hotel, great location, lovely staff. The location is great, couldn't be better, right on the seafront, very close to pier and bandstand.
All the staff we met were super helpful and friendly.
Our room on the second floor was nice and had a great view of the sea.
The bar was very reasonably priced.
Easy to pop back in from the beach to get changed or use the loos.
The price was great.
We were staying on an extremely hot day - 30 degrees - and the room was very hot. The windows only open a bit and the only fan was a table fan. The fan was noisy to run at night. The room needs a silent free standing, more powerful fan. We slept badly because of the heat.

The lift is tiny and suitable for two slim people and a couple of cases. Didn't bother us as we were happy to mainly use the stairs. Larger people would struggle with such a small lift.

The hotel is very old, so the facilities such as the very small lift and lack of air con are a reflection of the age of the building, but these short comings are reflected in the price.

The location is very nice. Breakfast was great! The room is not very clean, it was necessary asking to change the bed sheets. TV didn't work.

Pleasant room, comfy beds and location great. Location was great, very close to beach, pier and shops.
Comfortable beds and pillows, kettle and hairdryer in room.
Fan and Iron on request at reception.
We decided using the lift was not an option, very small and a bit scary.
More like a dumb waiter lift. Staff did not recommend using either, so long climb to third floor.
