Pretty run down, could do with renovation. Staff were all friendly. Room rate of £30 per night for my single room would be the most I would pay.

No shower gel in dispenser, only tiny bit of toilet roll when we checked in. Wanted to be near lift as I'm disabled and was a long way from lift on 1st floor and 8 steps to negotiate.

I had the honour of staying here in January 2023 and we were in 339 and it was just like the pictures on the website. The room was really spacious and had a large bathroom too. The decor was very calming and loved the prints of Eastbourne. There was even a tassimo machine which I had not seen in a hotel room before. The hotel is so well situated next to pier and near shops. It was lovely. Tesco Express about 5 mins away behind hotel. I had always looked at the hotel over the year on day trips so felt privileged that I could stay there for a bargain price in winter. Loved the creaky old lifts and having a real room key. The upkeep on this Grade II listed building must be immense.

We spent Christmas at the Burlington. Reception was quick and friendly and our room large and clean with all the usual amenities and a fabulous sea view. Our beds were very comfortable with spotless sheets and there were plentiful white fluffy towels. The only problem was the shower did need replacing I think. The restaurant was great ,really good service with a smile, food was good too! The staff at the hotel were lovely nothing was too much trouble. On our first night in the restaurant I was unfortunately taken ill all the staff were amazing but Paul definitely went over and above.....fetching me a wheelchair, ice pack and a cold sugary drink without any undue fuss and had me back in our room recovering in no time. I was so very grateful! Dispite everything we went on to have a very enjoyable Christmas 🌲

Excellent staff , excellent location, excellent value. I don’t know how anyone can pay the extremely low prices and complain about anything, it’s a bit dated but clean . If you want the Ritz pay the prices.

The rooms were clean, although the windows did rattle a bit in the wind, but a bit of loo paper stopped this.the bed was nice and comfortable, and for the price, I'd say good value.
Breakfast was just OK, but again, for the price, I don't think I could complain. Just a one night stay parked on the sea front had a nice view from my bedroom. If I needed a cheap nights accommodation, I would use it again.

We arrived in the burlington on Monday 2nd Jan and was staying to Fri 6th Jan 2023, on arrival we went to the desk to check in and was met with a foreign speaking fella who asked my name and handed me a key for room no 118, all he said was 1st floor, turn right out of lift. I stood a second and said what about breakfast can we pay for breakfast or what way does it work he looked to a well dressed man at reception who answered us then he continued to have a semi heated conversation with the well Dressed Man who was seemed to be the hotel manager while we were baffled as I've never entered a hotel ever and not told all information ie breakfast, wi fi etc it was like he couldn't wait to get rid of us to have this heated discussion as he seemed quite stressed.
We made our way into the old lift, floor one and proceeded to try find room 118 and it was at the very end of the corridor.
On initial look on opening the door it seemed really basic and clean, 5 mins into looking about the room... It was disgusting! Bathroom was full of damp, the window in the bathroom was covered in black spots of damp, roller blind covering the bathroom window, by the way was a normal plain window pane which was overlooking the main road and paths so everyone outside could see you, no frosted glass as bathrooms normally have and the blind didn't even roll up it was broke. The bath was full of black damp, the toilet hadn't seen bleach in months either and there was no radiator or Towel dryin radiator in the bathroom and it was so cold.
The main window in the room which faced Harry Ramsdens restaurant was covered in mould aswell and one blackout curtain was ripped so bad one side wasn't blacked out at all, the cobwebs hanging from the walls was disgusting.... this room hadn't been looked at or cleaned in months!
My partner started coughing all Night so in the morning I went downstairs and asked was it possible for a change of room, the foreign speaking fella was again on the desk with the manager behind him on a computer, the fella said instantly we are pretty fully booked ( which was a lie as before I headed the desk I tried to booked 10 rooms with no problem at all!!) and asked why we wanted to change.... My reply was the room is disgusting, minging! The manager on the computer instantly said ' give them room 218' so we went straight away to look at the room and omg what a breath of fresh air this room was, a complete different room clean with a coffee pod maker and a bigger TV, and a beautiful view of the pier and the sea! And no mould!
We stayed in the new room from Tues to Fri and not once did a cleaner come in or replenish out towels or our teas coffees sugar and milks! No fresh towels even left at the door and to be honest the cleaners weren't about everyday but seemed to be a few about the Friday when we were leaving.( weekends prob busier)
I visited the reception desk a time during our stay to ask for a lend of a hairdryer and was met with the foreign speaking fella again who was on his own, he dealt with me fine but seemed so agitated and stressed, there was a Chinese man tryin to check in just before me and the receptionist was so blunt and angry with him as the Chinese man couldn't speak English he gave him a key told him floor 1 and that was it.... When I was on my way bk to my room I met the Chinese man who was so confused and scared looking trying to find his room I helped him to his room. In my experience of hotels I'm afraid this one receptionist is nowhere near a people person at all, the job just isn't for him.
The room we were changed to was a superior double and it was lovely, the manager was really helpful and accommodating towards us and yes if we were to visit again I'd defo book room 218 again.
The burlington is in a great prime location, great sea views and yes it's an old hotel but the whole hotel needs a wee bitta work done

It is a lovely hotel. The ancient architecture and its sophisticated interior makes it magnificent. The rooms are nice and overall the hotel is very clean and tidy.

I had a brief stay here again (the last time was poor with a cockroach and a kettle that would not stop boiling when changed to another room. That is dangerous.)

This time around I stayed here and the bath water was fairly hot but could have been a lot hotter. I found a Cockroach crawling across the floor, the night porter came to retrieve it and said 'oh it's only ONE' (ONE is bad enough!) I had a cockroach last time.

I am going through a lot of trauma and have been through ongoing hell. A night receptionist was concerned about me so that made a slight difference although it didn't change my ongoing crisis.

I was given a better room with a sea view as I didn't realise I had paid more for the following night. However, as nice as the room was with a sea view, there was NO hot water and my mental state was dire due to circumstances. Paramedics were called to me and my accommodation was astonishly finally sorted out via my Doctor after all these years. I didn't get my hot bath and was told they would upgrade if I re-booked with them again. It is also a shame the remote control with options for YouTube and other channels e.t.c does not work as that would have been even better.

As a result of not getting my hot bath, I had to go to another Hotel to get one as that is what I had paid for. The only reason I did not give a terrible review was because they offered me an upgrade next time. The last time they removed my review (see photos of the Cockroach from the previous time.)

First impressions of hotel from outside were not great. It could certainly do with a good paint job. However when entering it is lovely but does have weird lifts. The receptionist was lovely as were all the waiting/ bar staff. Can’t say much for management as never saw them.

When we entered our room we were happily surprised as it was lovely and clean and over looking the sea. However once we entered the bathroom it was a different matter altogether. The sink was awful made from cheap plastic and looked like it had a burn mark right around the top sides. The toilet"…….. now here’s the thing."…….. we couldn’t actually see the bottom of the bowl as it was thick brown and filthy. Looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in months. There was really no point in telling reception as couldn’t see what they could really do so off we went to the pound shop and purchased a bottle of scale remover and low and behold within a few hours it had done the job and the toilet was almost as good as new.
As we stayed for the new year I was disappointed-in the entertainment over all and horrified that I was forced to use a card at the bar to buy drinks.
Having said this we still had a lovely time but the cleanliness needs to improve big time.

Can't thought the team here as they are lovely and go above and beyond. Was going to hold a fashion even here but it might be too small however, it's a great place for me to go and film and do my social medis Marketing work.

I came to Eastbourne to visit friends & was looking for somewhere comfy & reasonably priced to stay. I stay at The Burlington & had a room with a sea view. This was beautiful & I had a view of the pier. The hotel itself has lovely Victorian charm & I had a nice double room with tea & coffee provided. I can't fault the staff, they were friendly, chatty & the service couldn't have been better. They found out I was dairy free & went out of their way to provide a dessert I could eat in the evening after my main meal. The food was also really nice & very reasonable! Breakfast was also lovely, all the usual options & lots of hot food. I would definitely stay again. I can imagine it's absolutely beautiful in summer.
