Great location and great breakfast. Location and breakfast. No heating available in room until I contact reception and they wanted me change rooms and that room had no heating as well. Eventually the heating was switched on in room and it was resolved.

Unfortunately tainted as the room we stayed in smelt of cigarettes and don’t blame the smoker for opening up the window and having a cheeky smoke as we we were soooo far away from reception we had to take Kendal mint cake for the hike and phone had no signal or idea called an uber lol
This was valentines night and a treat for my partner which turned out to be the beginning of the end of 4 year relationship ! March now and single ! My own fault but partly blame the lazy smoker ( don’t really )
Other than the points I’ve mentioned HANDS DOWN best hotel in Eastbourne ! I just won’t be needing. It again :(

Our stay was very good, our room was big and the beach view perfect. The inclusive evening meals were good, but, can always be hotter.
My only shortcoming, to mention, is that the booking web sight makes no mention of a 40+ hotel car park at the rear of the premises, available at just £6.00 per day. That is cheaper than the on street parking available and far less hassle than having to either move or update a meter at 8.00 o’clock in the morning.

The price was good for the location of the hotel. Car park not free as requested in my search, this was a unexpected outlay. Unfortunately the hotel had a number of drunk people and the town was very undesirable.

A lovely stay at the Burlington I found it to be a very friendly comfortable hotel. Staff very attentive. Perfect location There were certain areas that were not very clean. Around the shower cubicle. And my room wasnt cleaned in 5 days. And no fresh towels either. Unless you stood at reception and waited to be seen.

Perfect short stay in Eastbourne with a view of the seafront The room was really great - I had a single room and it had a view of the beach front. Both bedroom and bathroom were very clean, and the staff at the Burlington were SO lovely. It was well worth the price I paid and I'd definitely come back here. The only thing I could suggest was that the pressure in the shower wasn't great

Staff. Dowdy room, window didn't open, grim carpet. No extractor in shower, so condensation in room, no water glasses.

We recently stayed at the Burlington Hotel and overall found it to be a good value-for-money option in a fantastic location.

The hotel itself is quite old and a little dated, but it has a certain charm. The reception staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made a great first impression. The lifts are wonderfully quirky and old-fashioned, adding to the character of the building.

Our twin room was a pleasant surprise, especially the lovely sea view. The room had all the essentials and was spotlessly clean, which is always a big positive. That said, some of the electrics looked a little sketchy and could probably do with updating. We also didn’t have housekeeping the whole time of our stay…not sure if that’s the norm or if our room was simply forgotten. We had to request a clean towel midway through which was delivered but no one came into our room to make beds, change towels or remove rubbish.

One challenge during our stay was the temperature of the room. It was extremely hot — more like a sauna — and we discovered the thermostat downstairs was set to 24°C, which felt excessive for mild spring weather. Someone must be happy paying big heating bills! Reception explained that someone older may have requested the heating on, but unfortunately it didn’t seem possible to adjust it in our room. We tried opening the window, but on the first morning a pigeon flew straight into the room, so we couldn’t risk leaving it open any further! Reception staff did kindly bring us a fan to take the edge off however having the heating off would have been most helpful. The lady at reception when we left really didn’t seem bothered about our complaint, which was a shame as everyone else seemed quite attentive

Breakfast offered a good range of choices and is entirely self-service, including a full English along with plenty of other options. Service in the dining room varied depending on who was on duty: one member of staff was incredibly energetic and kept everything running smoothly, while another seemed a bit slower, meaning plates piled up and tables weren’t cleared as quickly.

During our stay we also had to report a strong smell of cannabis on our floor, which lingered for several days before seeming to move elsewhere in the hotel. It wasn’t particularly pleasant having to walk through that smell regularly.

That said, the location is excellent — right on the seafront and within easy walking distance of shops, restaurants and the town centre.

Overall: If you’re looking for a budget-friendly stay in a prime seaside location, the Burlington is a solid choice. It may be a little dated and have a few quirks, but the cleanliness, friendly staff and unbeatable location make it worth considering. 🌊🏨

You can see how wonderful this old building would have been in the day. It has a kind of charm but feels like it could literally crumble at any moment it's clean and the staff are lovely. It's cheap and with a little bit of nostalgia a lovely stay great view perfect location and I would absolutely stay again.
