Outstanding hotel staff. All kind, polite and helpful from reception, housekeeping, restaurant and bar staff. Special mention for Liam who helped move us to a sea view room for our second night. Restaurant had a good selection with attentive staff to bring food. Hotel clean and tidy. Like most of hotels in the area, needs a little cosmetic work here and there. Great value for money.

Bof. Hôtel anciennement beau a mon avis. Mais un peu dépassé. Sauf pour les retraité et vétérans de guerre qui ont l’air de s’y plaire. Restaurant zéro et petit déjeuner pareil. Je déconseille fortement

My husband and I had 24 rooms
Booked at the hotel as we’re getting married and we had lots of family and friends travelling for the wedding. We also both stayed at the hotel the night before and the night of our wedding. I honestly can’t praise the hotel staff enough for what they did to help our wedding day run smoothly. Although we didn’t get married at the hotel , on the morning of the wedding they brought up 3 bottles of complimentary Prosecco and offered to bring breakfast up to my room. They gave my husband a couple of drinks to calm his nerves. They liaised with the Marshalls as it was carnival day and they were not allowing traffic along the seafront. We had my wedding car and a coach booked. Some of the staff waved me off in my wedding car and held the bar open for another hour when we got back after the wedding. They had even put lots of rose petals on our bed. I really don’t understand the bad reviews about either the staff or the hotel. They were truly amazing. Special thanks goes to Danielle , Ann and “Big” Jo. Thank you for helping make our wedding weekend so so perfect xxx

As I had stayed there before we knew that the hotel was tired in places but is in the process of renovating different areas. We had an issue when we went back into our room maint man arrived immediately and was back within 15 minutes to remedy. Our room was enormous which was a bonus. Tea / Coffee tray and breakfast perfect, everything you would want. ALL STAFF HELPFUL, FRIENDLY AND OBLIGING. For the price we paid could not beat it. Will be returning in October, 2023. Thank you everyone

Much nicer than I expected - room was big, well done out with a clean bathroom and sheets. Quite loud in corridor at night but to be expected with an old building and thin walls. Didn't get any noise from the street which I was expecting. Staff at front desk were friendly and accommodating to my needing to change dates from the booking.

Just returned from a pleasant weekend break at the Burlington Hotel, food, room, staff, & service was excellent, it's nice to see that they've recovered from their recent problems with the heating & hot water supply.
Leger seem to have got it back to the standard of the old Shearings management.

The hotels location is the best. Just by tge Eastbourne pier and the beach.
We booked the premier double room. Do check out the video of the room I shared. It was a good size with nice comfortable bed, tv, couch, wardrobe, safe, tea coffee and cookies. The bathroom was comparatively small and it had a shower.
The best part is the view from the windows. It’s magical and we were lucky to be there on a full moon night. Do check out the pictures I shared.
It’s a victorian period hotel with many rooms. People also book it for dinners, dance and other events.
We had breakfast there as well and it was a nice spead. Full English, with options for juices, cereals, yoghurt, berries, fruits, omelets, teas and coffee.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
They also have a locked room in case you arrive early and want to store your luggage.

Hotel is old school with lots of character. We had pleasant stay in the room with sea view. Room bathroom was clean and bed was comfortable bedsheets was crispy clean. Staff was friendly and efficient ( barman was a top bloke and he accommodated our strange request to mix up our peanuts in the caffe cup )
If you need clean bed and bathroom and be in the prime position this hotel is value for money and yes we will be back.

Having read all reviews about the Burlington hotel I can’t understand why the negative reviews. I have just brought a group of 38 people and I can’t praise the hotel enough.
All the staff from the management, reception staff and all their waitresses and waiters were very professional. After a few teething problems on arrival which was sorted out almost immediately our stay was excellent.
The food from breakfast to evening meal was superb and just right for our needs as a group.
Entertainment was very enjoyable and made our stay very relaxing.
I will definitely recommend the Burlington hotel and will definitely return.

I recently visited Eastbourne with my Sister and we stayed at The Burlington. The prices were reasonable and the hotel itself is nice, if a little dated.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and were checked in very quickly. We were also given helpful advice regarding parking.
We opted for the breakfast and evening meal option. The breakfast I must say, was lovely. A great variety of choice and plenty of it! The evening meals weren't so great. The food was nice, but being vegetarian, we only had one option each evening and they were a bit samey - one nice was Mushroom Risotto and the next was Mushroom Stroganoff. Not sure what would have happened if we had been vegan! Still, it was tasty enough for what it was - we both agreed that we'd probably have opted to go out to local restaurants in the evening had we known - there are plenty of lovely looking restaurants in the immediate vicinity.
Over-all a very pleasant hotel - the staff were the best thing.

Upgraded to Deluxe Sea View room. Unfortunately not - room was really standard. Was cold when we arrived and still not particularly warm later in the evening. Attention needs to be taken by Housekeeping. Restaurant staff very good food was ok.

Just returned from a short stay at the Burlington Hotel at Eastbourne. Was there last year and gave it a one star review. Found on this visit the hotel has been greatly improved with friendlier staff, a refreshed ball room, improved food and the entertainer on Tuesday evening was great fun with his quiz and singing. He got most of the guests up dancing.

We had a lovely lunch on the beach-facing patio. Just arrived in town. Phillip went out of his way to welcome us while serving beer and lunch, and to give us all the information we could have hoped for about the area. Really special service he provided.

This was my second stay at this hotel. It's in a fantastic location right on the seafront.
Check in was quick. Staff were really pleasant.
Unfortunately when I went into my room, (132) there was an awful buzzing noise.
This was due to the large extractor fan being right outside the window.
I reported this to reception. They stated 'no one has ever complained about this before' but I was assured this would stop after dinner had been served.
It didn't, so reception staff instantly offered me another room, which I accepted.
Although this room was a lovely double sized room and much quieter, the shower didn't work and the channels on the TV stopped working on the 2nd night.
TV was mended/re-tuned the next day, but the shower remained inoperable for the whole weekend.
The food was really good...except maybe a cheese and ham toastie I ordered from the bar. For nearly £7 it was pretty grim.
I have to say that ALL of the staff in this hotel were fantastic. Pleasant, polite, funny, professional and above all they were very kind. They really were exceptional.
Sadly this beautiful building is now in desperate need of some TLC. It would be lovely if the owners could consider giving it a bit of a makeover soon. This would hopefully encourage more people to stay. Speaking of 'staying'...maybe on nights when there is no entertainment, it would have been great to have some board games available. This would encourage more people to stay and spend some money in the bar, rather than go to the local pubs or to their rooms.
Despite the issues, I will definitely stay again.
