Been a view times to this hotel, rooms have always been nice size, only thing is carpets need a good clean in rooms I was in room 410 this last time. Was not happy about being delayed at reception on leaving was told I have not paid for car park when I did on each day, was then told it was there error, can't understand why you can't pay for car park for the time your staying instead of keeping doing it each day.

The building itself is extremely grand looking from the outside and in a fabulous position.
Inside some areas are a little tired but nothing too drastic.
Small car park round the back charged at £6 per night
Our rooms were lovely, spacious and with a Sea View and spotlessly clean.
We opted for Half Board which was ok - breakfast was better.
There was evening entertainment as an added bonus

The hotel location was spot on!! Literally in front of the seafront, pier and all these amazing food stalls. We have the “superior sea view room” I highly recommend you to book this room; the room was super spacious , the sea views directly from our room was just a surreal experience.

A really enjoyable break. Used a two night offer with dinner one night which was really good value.

Room was nice and recently refurbished. Breakfast was a buffet but provided a good selection. Service was good and attentive.

Would stay again as an excellent location.

I stayed here for 1 night and I enjoyed my stay. My room was clean and the size was perfect for me alone. The staff were very kind and friendly and accommodating. The only issue I had was hot water. I had trouble with getting hot water whilst showering but, apart from that, I have no complaints whatsoever. Would definitely go again and would recommend to others.

Beautiful window view also. The hotel is located opposite the beach and I could see the beach and the sea outside my window.

Spent one night here. Decent location right on the sea front. The hotel is quite dilapidated & in serious need of a refurb. The public areas are shabby , as was my room & bathroom. That said , my bed was really comfortable & clean, the staff were friendly & efficient, big hotel car park & a good breakfast with plenty of choice. When you take into account the price it was good value & despite appearances I would stay there again.

Perfect base for a 2 night trip to Eastbourne. You can't ask for a better location.
We paid extra for a superior room with a sea view and it was money well spent..
The hotel is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it is over 150 years old so creaky floor boards are a given.
If you want luxury, choose one of the more expensive hotels but if you want a reasonable basic hotel with cheerful attentive staff you won't go wrong here.
