As expected tired Victorian Hotel but we had a superior sea view room which was nice except stains on the newly refurbished room were not cleaned.

Staff were very friendly and helpful and the parking round the back of the hotel was good with plenty of space. The room was a little disappointing. The room was a reasonable size for 2 people but the bathroom was so small. It had a good size shower and nice mirror over the hand basin but I'm not overweight and sitting on the loo my elbows were touching the wall and shower glass. Anyone with any kind of minor disabilities will find the loo difficult to use. There is a double loo roll holder fixed to the wall which got in the way when standing and moving to the hand basin. The bed was very hard and low too.Overall it was a bit disappointing but the staff are good, the breakfast basic but with a good choice of hot and cold food and the location is very good right on the front and near the pier. I reviewed the Burlington hotel last year and said it was a little tired looking, and I couldn't see any major improvements just a bit of painting here and there.

The bathroom had run out of soap in dispenser. Also shower needed a better clean. I have photos. Plug of shower needed a good scrub to help drainage. Hair needed removing from waste.

Great location, 15/20 minute walk to the train/bus station, good breakfast and staff were friendly, lobby and breakfast area was nice
Rooms and lifts are very outdated, chipped paint, stained carpets, water stains down the walls. The beds were very clean however the room in general wasn’t great and our door also didn’t lock properly.

Great location, super helpful and attentive staff..
Great location, super helpful and attentive staff.. Love the 'authentic' feel of the place and can imagine how grand and bustling it would have been in days gone by.. Don't expect a bright, modern, abstract, artificial experience.. Think traditional, honest, spacious, clean, warm and very comfortable and you will not be disappointed. Go for a room with a seaview if you can and you will be in for a constantly changing visual treat.
