The Burlington Hotel

We enjoyed our stay at the Burlington, it is in a great location for Eastbourne Seafront and very close to the town and shops. There is a large dining room and lots of food and drink options at the hotel. The hotel itself is a little old fashioned but it has a traditional charm. The only downside is the parking situation- we were unable to get into the car park any of the nights we stayed, one of the days we did manage to find a space but we were told we’d have to move as it was fully booked. So would definitely build in time to your journey to try and navigate the parking. We ended up parking at the NCP nearby for all our nights.

Great location right on the seafront. I loved seeing and hearing the sea from my bedroom and being able to have an early morning walk along the beach. Easy, cheap parking in the street very close by. Tasty breakfast with fresh fruit and croissants as well as cereal and a range of cooked items. Obviously for the price, one can't expect the decor to be in great condition. The windows could have been better fitting, but the bathroom was modern and clean and the bedroom comfortable. Excellent lighting for reading. There seemed to be good sound-proofing between rooms. I was very happy with my stay.

It is an old-fashioned hotel right opposite to the pier. The walls are thin and floors a bit squeaky so you can hear the people outside or upstairs but with its price and location and warm hospitality, I can certainly live with it and spent three nights of good rest there.

Location, majority of staff, the fact it has it's own carpark I hated the location of the room. I rang reception and asked the girl with dreadlocks if I could change but she said there were no other rooms available. That wasn't true as I went onto booking.com and there were single rooms available which I would have been happy to take.

Amazing location, comfort beds and beautiful Grade II listed building. Amazing location, right by Eastbourne pier, beach & pubs. They held our bags for us for few hours the next day which was amazingly helpful . Very comfort beds and blanket was helpful as got little windy. Delicious breakfast, friendly staff and good value for money. Tv did not have any signal, but we weren’t there for tv so didn’t bother us to much. Shower head wasn’t working but the bath was clean.

Bathroom flooring very suspect (not level but more concerningly, different vinyl flooring types and not sealed)
Windows dont fit well.
creaky floors (in the room and above)
Comfortable bed though and great view!!!

Old world charm, which would be lovely in the summer. My stay was very wet very windy and cold in the middle of February. Unfortunately it highlighted the faded grandeur of the whole building. Seeing staff huddled in the cold and wet on a smoking break didn’t help - they deserved better

Beautiful hotel, amazing views and wonderful staff Beautiful Victorian building with an amazing frontage looking out to sea. Friendly courteous staff, lovely friendly welcome and easy check-in.
Quirky passenger lifts (love the term), one a cozy cuddle for 2 the other a little larger, but smooth and fairly quick ride to our floor in either.
Was a little concerned with the negative reviews but after our trip found they were entirely unfounded and more like malicious slurs on a lovely hotel. Yes it is in need of refurb like new window frames and curtains but you are so limited on what can be done to a listed building plus funds must have been hit by the pandemic. Our room, 207, was very warm on a chilly March weekend but comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The towels and bedding were spotless the furniture clean as was the carpet. The bed was smaller than we are used to but comfortable and the pillows were so soft, it was great. We had a very quiet 2 nights, yes there was an occasional door banging bit you get that anywhere you stay from the Premier to the Ramada. That is inconsiderate guests not the hotel. The bad reviews on the rooms, breakfast and staff again were entirely unfounded in every respect. Everyone was polite, helpful and answered my questions with a smile. The food was well cooked and hot with scrambled egg, bacon, sausages, crispy golden hash browns, baked beans and plum tomatoes as well as toast. There was a table with cereals, yoghurts and fresh fruit along with big flasks of cold milk, coffee and tea. Everything was replenished quickly and efficiently as soon as it got low, with several staff members checking frequently while we were having our breakfast.
Well worth a return visit and would recommend to anyone visiting Eastbourne to stay here, enjoy the ambiance and legacy of the beautiful Victorian era and appreciate the comfort of high ceilings, large public rooms and courteous service.
Room was a little too warm for us, we are a windows open all year couple.
