Location and good value
Location on sea front, catching bus or driving to places
This is more what might bother people. It didn’t bother me. I think if you are looking for a 5 star hotel, then this might not be for you. It does need updating, floor boards creek, rooms r dated, but for a place to sleep, good value for money and location, what more can I say than, I would happily stay again. We should support these hotels. Times must be hard for them and we don’t want to see them close.

Rooms were quite poor. Carpets were really stained and shabby, although hovered. Paint work quite marked. Down stairs in the bar and entertainment areas were nice and clean just the bedrooms were very shabby. Food started off well but last two nights the dishes weren’t so good. Breakfast was pretty good

My room was clean and comfortable. The food was very tasty, with plenty of choice.
All of the staff were professional and friendly. They were very supportive when I had a collision in my car near the hotel. They went out of their way to offer me advice and provide me with details of local garages.
I am very grateful and can’t praise them highly enough!

It was ok for what we paid for
It was average. Fine for the couple of days we stayed for
Unfortunately we had a very nosey family upstairs and kids were running around till 2 in the morning. These things can’t be helped but the manager was supposed to call us as we spoke to reception about this. Never got the phone call so that was very disappointing customer service

Welcoming staff. International breakfast ok. Very good price, considering the location directly on the sea and the elegant Victorian building. The problem is that the building would need a renovation of the premises, which are very old, post-war style; in particular the rooms are very basic, from the point of view of the furniture, the heating and the walls, as well as the doors and their closure.

The price was very reasonable for working class people. The Reception area and front door needs interior decorator to bring it back to its former glory. Too much gloss paint, like a railway station. Needs a makeover to bring it back to its original classic heritage

A perfect Hotel in a perfect Location to have a wonderful stay
We love the friendly easy checking We love the clean comfortable rooms The staff make you feel as if you are a welcome guest we relax there The location is fabulous right on the beach overlooking the pier and beautiful flower beds

Acceptable but nothing special
Staff pleasant and helpful. Food of acceptable standard and served speedily.
I went out for the day only to return about 4.30pm to find my room had not been serviced. Much of the decor is tired and in need of refurbishment. The "double glazing " is ineffective. Some of the woodwork at the front of the hotel is rotten.

Lovely seaside hotel - very comfy and lovely helpful staff!
Fabulously helpful staff - nothing was too much trouble. Lovely garden room at the front of the hotel which was lovely for a coffee in the morning with a great view of the pier. Comfy beds too. Would 1000% choose to stay here again!
Could do with a new shower head, as the water was spraying out the side, but the shower was warm and this really wasn't a big quibble considering all the positives.

Pleasant, and peaceful local, lots of doorstep to explore.
Size off rooms were great. Teas coffees, bottle of water in rooms which add a nice touch. Lovely bar and lounge area to enjoy. Very spacious, staff were friendly and very helpful
Improve on cleanless in room and bathroom. Breakfast you could tell the sausages were cheap and cooked in microwave. Hrash browns were dry and tasteless. Our room was too hot. Heating wasn't on, could work out why it was hot. Tv was to small for rooms. Our door didn't close very well.

Good for a one night stay.
There was an issue with our room and we were very quickly upgraded to a better, seafront room.
The rooms are much for basic and dated than the photos show. I was locked in the bathroom, unable to open the door from the inside and the front door handle came off in my hand. The room which we were upgraded to was still very dated. I was surprised given how nice the hotel looks in the pictures.

Great location, hotel in need of restoration.
Good location, available parking, kind staff, large room on the corner of the building gave us excellent views of the sea. The room location almost justified the price.
Very tired decor and general feel of the place. Massive under investment was obvious in many places. For example, the lining of our curtain had a piece cut out of it and we think it had been used to make the bathroom blind …..
Breakfast was not great. We were herded like sheep and it felt a bit Butlins c. 1976.

This hotel did not disappoint, everything was great. Everything went beyond my expectations and more, The choices of food was great, Breakfast was great and the staff were so kind and helpful. Finally I am really looking forward to returning in August this year
