Value for money, for a one night stay convenient location for exploring Eastbourne. Great location, friendly staff, clean comfy beds,
complimentary tea/coffee in room. Spacious room. Excellent value for money.
General cleanliness could have been better, carpet stained. Public areas tired.

Great location and staff.... but.... The staff were helpful and efficient, and the hotel is a stone's throw from the sea front. Unfortunately, as soon as I got to my room, the door was already open... fine... but on checking the lock, the whole locking side of the door was splintered and looked very much like it had previously been kicked and forced open... a few times.
Although the lock worked.... I did not feel very secure during my stay. It's an old and beautiful building, but (I hope it just the age of the place) ... there were lots of scuttling sounds throughout the night, so I didn't have the best night sleep and ended up piling my suitcases against the door... 'just in case'.... as the initial viewing of the door frame set a feeling of insecurity from the outset.

The hotel rooms are not the same as the pictures shown when you book and the parking is limited and not large enough for the entire hotel you may have to pay for parking on the main roads if you can find a space.
Location wise, it's right on the sea front, so I can't complain about that, and the night staff were awesome and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly.

Excellent location fair price enjoyable stay. Excellent location opposite pier. Breakfast basic no mushrooms fried bread or croissant’s but that would increase the price.

The staff were very helpful! The location in connection to the sea and to the pier is excellent! The additional breakfast was weird. Not tasty and not balanced.

Lovely stay as usual in the center of Eastbourne. Still one of my favorite hotels to stay in Eastbourne, simply because of its location and convenient car park at the back of the hotel.

Staff at reception is always very friendly and helpful.
Rooms need to be cleaner with more attention to detail.

The hotel is in a great location, right next to the beach and pier! Service was good. The room, however, was not clean. We thought that we had booked a room with one double bed, but it had two single beds. This wasn't a huge deal for us, and we decided to just push the beds together. When we moved the bed, we noticed that the floor underneath the bed was quite gross. There were stains all over the carpet where the bed was and it had not been vacuumed (photo added). We asked the staff to vacuum it the next day, and thankfully they did.
The sheets and towels were clean. Although we did not stay in an ocean view room, we were right on the corner and got some view of the ocean. Our room was weirdly placed, so we were right next to stairs and we needed to go through two doors to get to our room (other than the three doors from the elevator in the main hallway).
If you are fine with a room not being very clean, it is a cheap place to stay and the location is great. The sheets and towels were clean. As mentioned in other reviews, the whole place is run down. Did not talk to the employees much, nor ate at the hotel, but the service we did experience was good and the employees were helpful.

Lovely hotel The staff were absolutely lovely and gave my disabled parents all the help they needed. The rooms are very spacious with windows that actually open, which is a plus for me! The seafront location is great with all the restaurants and shops you could want literally just round the corner. You can catch busses from opposite the hotel too, which is another plus. This is a very old hotel and, as such, shows signs of its age. So if you are someone who is offended by flaky paint on windows and the odd bits of peeling wallpaper, then this is not the hotel for you. However, if you don't mind a little shabby chic and just want a reasonably priced stay in a spacious hotel with a lovely atmosphere in a great location, then you will love it here.

Great location for a bargain break Our bedroom was very spacious and we particularly liked that we had a chair each for sitting watching TV. Quite often you only get one chair. We loved the constant hot water at any time of day and night and we enjoyed the fact that the lift was always working, especially as we were on the fourth floor. We both thought the breakfast service was good. There was an adequate selection and the food was well prepared and very tasty. The hotel was right on the seafront in a prime location and it had its own car park out the back, which was very useful as parking in Eastbourne is a nightmare. All in all we were very pleased 😀 Nothing. The Burlington was good value for money and the staff were very attentive. They made us feel welcome.

Our stay was not so bad. Sea view in our room and the superb location. The coffee mug and teaspoon inside the room was dirty , hair & body soap in the toilet was not enough for us to get a shower.
