The Burlington Hotel is a typical British tired seaside hotel in need of modernising. My room was dirty ie the carpet needed a good vacuum and shampoo as it was badly stained. The plug hole was full of hair too. Room service was awful - my towels which I left in the bath were still there when I returned from a trip out and the quilt was thrown over an unmade bed. Toilet rolls were not replaced although were available from reception along with extra milk. The head of house on reception was really helpful as was the male. There’s no air conditioning but I was provided with a desk top fan. The lift had broken down the Friday before and was still o.o.o. the following Friday which was really bad news for older folks with mobility issues.
The food was really nice (except for fish and chips - the fish was cooked from frozen and the batter was soggy!) and lots of choice.

The situation with the lifts spoiled the stay. Next time I would check the situation prior to booking.
Rooms were clean and staff were friendly and polite
Both lifts were out of order, and remained so throughout my stay. One lift has been out of order since my previous visit in April. I have never stayed in a hotel were all lifts were not functioning. This spoiled what would have been a nice visit.

The lifts were out of action. We were originally allocated a room on the 4th floor. But due to pre active action by Sarah we allocated a 2nd floor room. This was very much appreciated by a couple of 82 year olds only climbing two flights of stairs instead of four.

I would stay again if lift working and room was up to the second rooms standard.
The Hotel was in a fab location right on the beach near the Pavilion, pop up shops and main high street. The staff were lovely and helped with re-rooming breakfast was good lots of choice .
The first room provided was in a terrible state mould around the sink , toilet bowel stained and broken, and the baths enamel all chipped showing blk metal. It was a hot weekend no air con and window could not be opened as was on a large metal fire escape . Asked to be re-roomed which we were to the 4floor much better room but lift been broken for many weeks if not months we were told, so many people were struggling with the stairs including myself.

It is a charming old building that has seen better days
The owners have spent no money bring rooms and areas up to date.
The room heights are amazing, the views are wonderful.
But we had no lift and I am disabled and struggle to climb the stairs.

Welcoming and friendly
We had a nice stay and the staff were lovely, friendly, and welcoming. The breakfast was also very good and offered a good selection.
However, the hotel could benefit from a deeper clean. The carpets need replacing or thorough cleaning. While the service was excellent, the overall cleanliness of the hotel needs improvement. Layers of dust on curtains

A very pleasant stay as always - this is the third or fourth time we have stayed.
Breakfast was a wonderful feast and excellent value for money.
The bed mattress was very poor but a topper was provided after we pointed out the problem and all was well.

Staff were friendly especially Shelby and Louie. The rooms were clean and breakfast was nice.
The lift didn’t work the whole time of our stay. We took my mum who is 78 and has had two hip operations and has drop foot and uses a walker, who had to go up to the 2nd floor to our room at least 4 times a day. Most of the doors leading to stairs were exceptionally stiff and hard to open.

We only stayed 1 night to coincide with a theatre booking. So 1 night without a working lift was ok.
The breakfast was brilliant, it was complimentary due to the fact that the lifts weren’t working. We were on the 4th floor!!!

The hotel staff are all friendly , helpfull and they make time for a chat even when they are busy.

Location of the hotel is good . Both lifts being out of action and having to climb flights of stairs , which honestly affected my 88 year old mums health as she has a heart condition and COPD and is not very good with walking .
The only reason we persevered with the stairs and didnt move hotels was because of the kindness shown to us by members of staff, who went beyond normal duties to help us with our luggage and changing our room so we only had to climb 1 flight of stairs, which I know was difficult as they were trying to accommodate every guest .
I felt sorry for the members of staff that were continuously having to climb 4 flight of stairs with guests luggage on a daily basis, because of the lifts being out of order ,i could see they were struggling with helping guest with their luggage and doing their normal duties .
The owners of the hotel should be ashamed of themselves for not acting quicker to get at least 1 lift working again , if it wasn't for the dedication of all your staff I'm sure lots of guest would have left never to return.

Good hotel, but room for improvement
Good location near town centre, beach and pier. Decent sized room. Comfortable beds. Good view of pier (but spoilt by extremely dirty windows). Friendly and helpful staff.
Lifts not working. Room very hot and no air conditioning, clean in some parts but dirty in others. The windows were very dirty and the window frames were rotten. The room was not serviced during our stay.

Better than expected and great customer service
Started with a mix up , but were offered a great alternative and was very happy with our stay. Good manager and comfortable stay with extra features , like a fridge during a heatwave. All round great.
