Good WiFi, modernised room, comfy bed, nice large room, friendly welcome, no mattress protector (was surprising), plenty of sockets near bed for devices. Great breakfast!

Had a great stay here. Everything was clean. Had a decent view of the sea. The staff were nice and polite towards me at all times. Could hear noise from adjoining rooms but nothing too loud or excessive. Amazing location not too far from the pier. Would definitely consider booking here in future.

Connor at reception was lovely and was nice enough to upgrade our room to a view! The room was large and clean, bed was a bit uncomfortable but pillows and blankets were soft. I also appreciated that there was a heater and a fan in the room. To top it off the location is perfect

I stayed half-board at this hotel and was pleased with the location and price. The outside of the hotel is a bit off-putting (paint is flaking-off etc). However, things improved inside. Check-in was quick. I was given a double room which was a bit dated, but was a good size (the tv was very small). Unfortunately, I was unable to sleep due to the cheap mattress (I could feel the springs through the mattress), so went down to reception in the early hours and spoke with the night porter. After being given the keys (and checking a few rooms), I ended up in a ‘newly refurbished’ room. This room was a vast improvement on the previous room I had been given and most importantly, the mattress was comfortable.
There is ongoing work on Grand Parade and the side road (where the hotel is located). The workmen tended to start work around 7am, so no lie-in!

I found all members of staff to be friendly and helpful. I thought the breakfast and evening meals were good value, too. I would stay here again.

Very nice hotel. Very helpful and good staff. Rooms presented well with adequate facilities. Lovely location and full of character as these old Victorian hotels are. Good breakfast buffet and food bar with conservatory facing the sea front. Good price and certainly cheaper than some of the others . Good value. Half range of simple bar food as well as the fa. Y restaurant offering.

Faded grandeur probably sums up the fabric of this hotel. It’s a shame its owners haven’t maintained it as it’s now suffering from a lack of investment. Conversely, the staff were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. The bedrooms have the typical high ceilings and beautiful cornices of the grand hotel it once was. It’s beautifully positioned for the pier and the bar’s a pleasant place to spend an hour or two in the evening. There has obviously been some water ingress from bedrooms into the dining room that hasn’t been rectified. The breakfasts, although containing mass-produced products, include a good range of options. This hotel is not expensive and its location really does excuse the lack of investment. Added to this it’s a dog-friendly hotel, so I would definitely consider it again in the future.

Lovely old world hotel, staff are friendly and helpful, rooms have tried to be updated but it's a grade 2 listed building so they can't change a lot, but still feels like a trip back in time.
Location is near perfect, a good few resteraunts nearby, hotel right on the coast near the pier, shopping centre and train station 10 minutes walk.
Perfect.

Don't believe all the negativity about the Burlington. Yes, it's old. Yes, it needs extensive refurbishment. But our room - a superior sea view twin - was spacious, well equipped and clean. The breakfast at £10 was excellent value. Overall, a good value option.

When we first visited room all looked fine and had a wonderful view of the sea front. First night stay the radiator kept making a dripping noise and loud banking noise. No sleep. Went down to reception at three in the morning to see if I could get help. Nothing can be done till 7.15. Reception staff said she would get maintenance guy to come and look. That took till Saturday afternoon. When got back to room the radiator was on full heat making room very uncomfortable but noise had stopped. But couldn’t turn heating down. Several visits to reception we final got moved to another room on night 2 thanks to a member of staff that cared about our stay. Breakfast was good but small plates so you couldn’t get a lot on the plate. Evening menu wasn’t great not a lot of choose and no Chardonnay or decent beer at the bar.

Our car broke down on our way to the hotel, arriving at 2am the staff were INCREDIBLE, they helped us with everything we needed and went above and beyond to ensure we were OK.
We will never forget the kindness and will always return to The Burlington as long as they have this wonderful staff team

We have just returned from a 5 day trip to the Burlington Eastbourne
20 oct-25 and we had a fantastic time the Hotel staff were polite, friendly and very helpful when we arrived we were not happy with the room we had been allocated we were upgraded to another room 309 without any fuss or trouble and nothing was too much trouble for the staff
The food and service was faultless
This was our second visit it 3 months and will be going again.
If I was to be picky I will say the room wasn't very clean particularly the windows but no bother.
Thank you Burlington

We had a nice large room - very well kept. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Everything worked as it should do - easy access to the town, beach etc.
Hotel bar was great & the place looked clean & tidy albeit a little worn out.

The main issue we had was car parking - we paid £6 to stay in their car park but it was always full.
Had to park on street behind the hotel. As we had a Blue badge it was okay but saw a number of cars with parking tickets on.

After reading many bad reviews we were pleasantly surprised. The room is clean , comfortable and absolutely no mould . We asked for extra pillows , they were brought to our room . The staff are so friendly and helpful . We are here for 2 nights and so far really cannot fault it , yes in some area's the decor looks a little tired but it's an old building . Furnishings are clean and modern .

We arrived at the Burlington Hotel Eastbourne on the 25th September for 6 nights after deciding to finally stay here after admiring this grand old building for so many years. I moved to Germany more than 10 years ago and always return once a year to visit my family and am so annoyed with myself that we have not stayed here before and have missed out all these past visits on the chance to stay here. Honestly as the title of the review says we absolutely love The Burlington Hotel and had the most wonderful time staying here. We were given room 210 which was a superior twin room with sea view and it did not disappoint at all. Wi-Fi always worked amazingly the whole time we was here and very easy to connect to, the bed was heavenly and we slept like babies every single night. The mattress was top top quality it really was and the duvet was just perfect along with the pillows. The towels and bedding were perfectly white and Importantly super clean. The large flatscreen tv had plenty of tv channels to choose from so always something to suit all tastes. We absolutely loved the view from our room and we are really missing sitting at the window listening to the sea hit the shoreline as the sound was so beautiful and we loved falling asleep and waking each day to this magical sound. The hotel could not be more perfectly located literally opposite the pier and a couple of minutes away from the town Center. Saturday evening there was a quiz which was great fun following that there was fantastic entertainment from the very talented singer Andrew he was such a lovely friendly guy and certainly got everyone singing along and there was such a great atmosphere the whole evening. The fellow guests staying here are a real eclectic mix of ages and characters and all so very friendly. Liam & Joe at the bar are absolutely brilliant and always super friendly with a great sense of humor. I must mention the food here as it blew us away both at breakfast and dinner, the quality of the ingredients used was absolute top notch and the food always perfectly cooked. Breakfast time is an absolute feast with a special mention for that bacon! Oh my I have never seen such perfection every single day. There must be a very talented head chef as the attention to detail and perfection both at breakfast and dinner was fantastic and amazing value for money at £22 for a 3 course evening dinner, so without a doubt a huge compliment to the chef and kitchen staff. The staff in the restaurant both at breakfast and dinner are truly so so hard working and always so polite, friendly and an absolute pleasure to see every day so special mentions must go to Ann, Wayne and Cornel you guys work so hard and we saw that everyday. Sarah on reception was always so friendly, helpful and always on hand to help in any way. On the Saturday evening the fire alarm was set off and the super lovely female manager handled the evacuation with true calm and professionalism, am so sorry I did not get your name but your self also was always a pleasure to speak with. When the 1st of October came around and it was time to return home to Germany we was so sad to leave as honestly as the title of my review says - The Burlington Hotel Eastbourne we absolutely love you! and we most certainly will be returning next year and every year after without a doubt. Just to end when I see the negative reviews it truly pains me as I know how hard everyone works here and seriously people need to be realistic with their expectations. You cannot pay a Burlington Hotel price but have the expectations of the standards of staying at the Hilton or the Marriot. To please everyone complaining would not cost just millions it would be tens of millions if not more. I dread to imagine the size of the electric, water , gas etc etc bills as well as general maintenance costs and business rates etc etc . Renovations and improvements will always be an ongoing issue in any hotel and certainly one of this size and grandeur on the seafront with all the problems that salty sea air brings. They are doing their utmost best and people seriously need to lower expectations and be realistic. Until next time. Love - Respect and much Admiration.

Great!! Don’t let the outside of the building put you off. Reception staff very welcoming and friendly. Our room on the third floor was very spacious and clean with a beautiful view of the water and jetty Bathroom spotless. Water hot with good pressure.
Bar staff very friendly. Food good for what we ordered. Would definitely stay again

Unfortunately the Burlington is what I would call tired, it had all the facilities that you need and the young lady that checked us in was very pleasant, friendly and efficient. We were booked into a superior twin room with sea view. The room was clean and tidy but as I said tired everything could do with a spruce up from the outside to lifts and the corridors. A satisfactory stay and it did what we needed, a one night stay for a visit to the theatre.

I recently stayed at The Burlington Hotel in Eastbourne with my husband, and it was a thoroughly delightful experience from start to finish. The hotel has classic charm with elegant Victorian architecture and it's perfectly situated right on the seafront, offering beautiful views of the coast and the iconic pier. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay—friendly without being intrusive, and always happy to assist. The room was clean, comfortable and well-kept, with everything we needed for a relaxing break. I especially appreciated the little touches like the complimentary tea and coffee, and the large windows that let in lots of natural light. Breakfast was lovely each morning with plenty of variety and generous portions, served in a bright, spacious dining room. The atmosphere in the hotel was calm and relaxed, ideal for anyone looking to unwind by the sea. Location-wise, you really can't beat it. The hotel is just steps away from beach, and a short stroll to shops, cafes and theatres. It’s the perfect base for exploring Eastbourne and the surrounding area, including Beachy Head and the South Downs. All in all, I’d definitely recommend The Burlington Hotel to anyone looking for a charming and well-located hotel on the East Sussex coast. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. ✨

We had two weekends at the Burlington. Booked a Superior Sea View room - 218. Lovely room, but completely spoilt by poor housekeeping. The carpet was absolutely filthy, could not have been vacuumed for weeks. There were empty coffee sachets on the floor, two lots of tablets scattered, obviously somebody's medication, and also in the bedside drawer, the previous occupants ID card. The second weekend, we had room 307. Once again, lovely room, but spoilt by poor housekeeping. Once again, the carpet needed a good clean. We let the housekeeping go in once to "tidy"!! The bed, well, that was hilarious, the bottom sheet had not been touched and the duvet literally just pulled over the bed. The tea tray had not been replenished. As it was a superior room, I think too, we should have had replacement water and biscuits, which we did not get. The bins were absolutely filthy. In the bathroom were cobwebs and black mould over the window, The housekeeper must have been in the room, literally, 2 minutes, at the most. There is obviously no senior management to check on these "housekeepers".

It's such a shame because we found the Reception staff so nice and helpful, all credit to them. The food was excellent, breakfast being tested each morning for correct temperature. Very convenient position, right on the front. Car park - well, we managed just to find a space both times, but there are so many cars in there, I wonder if they are all connected to the Burlington?

We shall certainly not be returning to the Burlington again, I was glad to get home to our clean house!!
