Pleasant and friendly stay
A grand hotel with character, little faded now but perfectly comfortable and I obtained a reasonable rate for a single room.
The sash windows in my single room were rattling as they faced into the southwesterly wind.

The location is perfect
The lifts were not working throughout our entire stay. We were told the issue would be fixed within 1 day, but during our 3-day stay, the lifts remained out of service the entire time. This was inconvenient and could significantly impact the experience if the customer

It was very relaxing, nice view, comfortable, and the breakfast was good.
Staff was very friendly at the reception but looked very grumpy in the restaurant.
We were upgraded to a very nice big room which my husband was happy as it was his birthday. Very close to everything and had entertainment on the Saturday night which was good.

Seaview room, Near to shops, resturants, near pier and opposite beach. Easy to find parking. Great in-house live entertainer on Saturday night!!
Food could be better standard instead of cheap shop brands used in dinner and breakfast. Staff in resturant excellent effecient service though.

We'll be back!
As regular visitors to The Burlington Hotel, we were pleased to note that the recent change of management appears to have been a good move. All staff were friendly and helpful. Location and sea-view all as expected. Ditto food.
Only a very minor point - the background music in the dining room and bar area seemed inappropriate to the customer profile. There was no information pack provided in the bedroom. This would be a useful improvement.

Relaxing and comfortable
Perfect location
It’s a bit tired in places, but sadly the way most sea side hotels are these days. This didn’t really impact our stay, but worth mentioning. Parking is brilliant, very large easily accessible car park at the rear. But what a perfect location. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the bar was run very efficiently.

Overall, a decent hotel. Other rooms (for higher prices) might have been nicer. Decent value.
The breakfast buffet was always the same, always delicious every morning though they ran out of scrambled eggs mid morning one morning and did not make more (they had other sunny side up option available). Other breakfast foods were available.
Close to Eastbourne Pier (which was great!), close to Terminus Road (Pedestrian Street with shops and restaurants, which was great!) and hotel staff were ALWAYS friendly.
Food was good quality, albeit pricier. Good 3-course meals for dinner for £25 which was nice appetizer, main (with vegetarian option) and dessert. Changed daily. The room felt a bit cramped. The “twin” beds felt small though were springy with a couple extra pillows and one extra blanket for two beds.
The heat and water pressure in the shower every morning (around 730am) was abysmal.
Could not figure out air conditioning unit.
The hotel also went cashless midway through the trip so we had to pay for things by credit card because they would not accept monies any longer at either hotel restaurant or hotel pub. This was frustrating as tourist, since was only told about transition the night before.
Rooms were advised to be cleaned (ie, tell front desk when we wanted housekeeping) and not always done in time.
