The staff were very helpful & friendly,we enjoyed our stay but the hotel is very tired looking & could do with a refurbishment.
The situation with one lift being out of action is not very satisfactory but having said all this we did enjoy our stay & the staff are an asset to the hotel.

Perfect location on the seafront and close to the lovely shopping area . Comfortable room , excellent shower and warm welcome on reception . Would recommend .

Shower doors needed replacing a bit flaky round the edges. Bathroom very narrow, not practical if using a walking aid. Not enough lifts.

Great Hospitality
All staff were really outstanding. Great hospitality.
Lifts. Given there were a lot of eldery folk, the lifts were slow and small. One lift was being avoided because it wasn't behaving.

Mostly very acceptable
The nearness to all amenities in Eastbourne. Most of the staff were very efficient. The rooms booked were clean and serviced daily.
The barman on duty on Friday evening seemed very slow, kept disappearing from the bar area and didn't seem to know how to run a bar. We asked for a bottle of wine which he couldn't understand then couldn't find it. I also asked for a large lemonade but got a soda water instead which he wouldn't replace.

Good value for money, room only stay for a September weekend 2 night stay
Room spacious and comfortable with clean facilities and linen and towels
General areas a little worn at the edges, but functional.
If you want better quality, you will be needing to pay more for it!!

Okish for one night?
The location and the relatively cheap price-you get what you pay for.
The room needed a good make over,it didn't look it has had one for a good few years.we only stayed one night but my wife said that was enough.She said she could feel the springs of the bed in her back,which lead to an uncomfortable night's sleep.
In the bathroom the sink looked like it came out of the forties.Also the silicone filling around the edge of the sink looked distinctly unhygienic.
The shower head kept moving around it's fitting and the water was going everywhere but over me.
The shower fitting looked to small to hold the shower head.In the end I just held the shower head in my head ,which is awkward.
Our room looked over the fire escape and the windows were very dirty and didn't look like they had been cleaned for a long time.

Some areas tatty in need of attention, breakfast very poor, little or no continental choice, hot choices not replenished regularly, biggest disappointment was size of en-suite bathroom very tiny crammed in near impossible area, positive note excellent location, staff very helpful.

Bar food not available when expected for 2 nights (staff shortage /sickness) No notice given so too late to book for main restaurant.

Useful room for theatre stay, but dated
Good central location, iconic seaside parade hotel with period features. Friendly staff and spacious room.
Very dated and in need of a major refit. If you want a trip back to the 80s this is for you!

Enjoyable
Location is ideal. Room was a good size with a sea view, comfortable but shabby. Decent flow of hot water in shower. Evening entertainment Friday and Saturday was reasonable and not too loud, so that we were able to converse without shouting. Staff were all happy and polite
Bathroom could have been cleaner, mould around window and black around plugs and overflow in the sink. Could have done with coathooks to hang wet rain coats

Great location. Value for money. Parking is not the best. However, it's not the worst. We did park on the side road as it was free after 6 pm and free all day Sunday.

Nice stay in Eastbourne
Location was great, right by the pier. The staff were very nice and helpful. Good parking at the back of the hotel.
Our room was by the lift so we had some noise from that , nothing else.

It was a very pleasant stay and the staff were excellent.
The location of the hotel is perfect. As we were there for the airshow it was ideal as when the sun got too much or it turned a bit colder we could go back to our room and watch from the comfort of our room.
The shower was a bit scary as the water was very slow to drain away and I thought it was going to overflow. Apart from having to cut the shower short the rest of the room was very acceptable.
