Reception staff very friendly and efficient. The room was spacious, sea view was great, bathroom was large, and had a bath and shower. breakfast was good, lots of choice and food was hot, dining room very welcoming. The hotel is very much a large hotel, & keeps its charm from a bygone era. We had a most pleasant stay, and would not hesitate to return.

The staff are exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The young lady at the bar was such a blessing, offered to bring my coffee all the way to the terrace room for me. Thanks for a great, wonderful stay.

In its hey day the hotel would of been magnificent. It is do run down and beeds a big costly make over. Very little staff to run things.

Nice location, great price
I thought daily cleaning of the rooms to be standard in any hotel, but I was wrong: rooms are cleaned only at the start of your stay. They don't even replace your dirty tea mugs. I often stay at similar cheap hotels in Eastbourne, and this is the first time this happens to me. I didn't read this in the conditions of sale, so I wonder if it's legal. The service at breakfast was not great during the weekend: difficult to find an available table, food was not replenished, one day coffee was not available, and one male waiter seemed to prefer chatting with customers rather than work. On Monday the service was much better, but the hotel was clearly less busy.

Excellent value for money
Friendly staff. character property. Choice of dining. Good size clean rooms. Evening entertainment with reasonable drink prices. Close to beach and main town shops. Parking available. Reasonable prices. We really enjoyed our stay.
There is a need for decoration and it is in progress but it is acceptable and wouldn't deter me from booking again.

pleasant but not what I expected
our room was fresh and bright with what looked like a new bathroom, the bed was comfortable, breakfast plentiful and tasty, lots of choice, with staff removing empty plates as they were finished with.
guests smoking at the hotel entrance,lift was far to small and old I wouldn't trust it so we walked up to the second floor.

enjoyed our mini beak, perfect location and the staff were excellent always ready to help.
