Gradually falling to pieces, but still the best hotel in East Sussex.
If you make the mistake of judging the hotel based purely on its appearance, mistaking a occasionally worn and grubby carpet in a hallway and/or a wobbly tap in a bathroom as signs that the hotel is a disaster, then you probably don't deserve to stay here. Always warm in the winter, fast free wireless internet and a massive buffet breakfast. Oh, and have you seen the location?
There are plenty of things to complain about, but none of them are important. Making a fuss will only encourage the owners to renovate the place, and then you won't be able to stay here anymore.

A Gem Of a Hotel

Good value for money, great staff but needs some attention.
The man at reception was really friendly and helpful. The bar was nice, we sat at a table with a sea view. The room itself was big.
The TV was tiny, can't watch it from the bed. The bathroom needs updating. The tap was dripping constantly which kept me awake for a while (so annoying) and the floor boards in the room upstairs were incredibly creaky!! Paid for late checkout yet still room service knocked on the door early!!

The building itself is lovely. Unfortunately, it does need a good lick of paint & the rooms need updating. Our bathroom was so outdated, the basin was a different colour to the bath & toilet, think is was there from when the hotel was built, as never seen a style like it, a bit artdeco ish.
The downstairs was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations. Breakfast was good & the staff was so friendly and accommodating. It must have been an amazing hotel in its day. The location is excellent, just opposite the pier, & a short walk to the town centre, there is also a small carpark for Ā£6 a day. It is also very pet friendly, so next time we will be bringing our two dogs. The good well out ways the negatives.

I loved it, massive hotel old style but cozy and comfy. Very clean needs a little tlc to building but I think weather and finances would make it hard. I would defo stay again and bring children. The beach is amazing and everything in walking distance, cafes pubs and shops and shopping centre.
