As it is now October, the nights are drawing in and the clocks change at the end of the month, Barrie at Goldilocks feels that it is a prudent time to draw everyone’s attention to their home security.
October is National Home Security Month which is designed to create awareness around your home security, and to highlight the ways in which you can keep your home and your family safe during the darker evenings.
As an example did you know that burglaries increase by up to 20% when the clocks go back and that the thieves make the most of the darker evenings?
Statistics show that the peak time for burglaries during the dark winter evenings is between 4:00pm and 7:00pm!
Data from Halifax shows that the average cost of a winter burglary is a whopping £2623. This is to replace belongings and to repair damage. Home insurance companies have minimum standards that they expect you to have - your locks on windows, doors and patio doors but also you may be eligible for further discounts if you have a higher degree of security.
At Goldilocks they don’t want you to become one of these statistics, as they do not even begin to address the emotional upheavel, and are here to help you ensure that you have the appropriate measures to secure your home. So why not contact us to book your FREE home security consultation
So for October Goldilocks Locksmiths will be sharing some handy hints and tips on their facebook page in connection with the National Home Security Month.
