Holy Summer! The sun has been blazing down and England is through to the World Cup quarter-finals. Wherever you are - nearer the downs, in the centre or by the sea - there is something outdoorsy for you to do this weekend...

Who does not like kites? The fabulous Brighton Kite Festival is this Saturday 7th and 8th at Stanmer Park, a sky-full celebration of shapes, colours and wind powered flight in the beautiful setting of the park. Organised by volunteers from the Brighton Kite Flyers, it is the 40th year of this community festival. Come and participate yourself as well as enjoy professional displays set to music. There will be stalls for kite accessories, food and drink by local producers as well as entertainment for all ages. FREE entry, voluntary car parking contributions. Read more here.

In the middle of town, the Hot Dog and Cider Festival will take place on the 6th and 7th of July 2018 on Brighton’s very own Central Park, The Level! 1000's of Hotdogs, ALL the toppings, 100 different Cider's and live music throughout both days.

By the sea, don't forget to also come along and join thousands of others on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th July on Hove Lawns for Paddle Round the Pier, the world's largest beach and watersports festival and fundraiser.

If you want to watch England vs Sweden (Saturday 3pm) in company, your best bet is probably your local pub. These places in town have big screens, however be prepared for large and boisterous crowds:

Curious about Yoga? This summer's Brighton Yoga Festival(14th and 15th July) is the perfect opportunity to find out more. There will be chances to learn how to flex and relax from the very best yoga and meditation teachers; as well as to talk to nutrition experts about ways to feel better from the inside out. There will be plenty of fun, too, as the event will feature live music, entertainment for the kids, plus prizes and lots of specialist classes where you will be able to try something new. So come along, join in the fun, and try something new.

Paddle Round The Pier (PRTP) Brighton Charity Festival. Come and join in Brighton's favourite award winning beach festival on July 7th and 8th 2018.

As a mum, I love taking the kids to this. They can be inspired by the world of water sports plus sample some lovely local food and music. I can sit and have a cheeky beer and watch the kids have fun dancing to the bands! Paddle Round The Pier is a Brighton essential but we have to keep donating to make it happen!
