Two years ago Maisie Roe (now 6 years old) was badly burned on Bonfire night, November 5 by an ordinary garden firework. Since this awful event Stephanie, her mother, has been very keen to raise awareness of the dangers of having fireworks at home and is asking parents to take their children to organised displays.
Whilst the weather is getting colder, a BBQ might not be the first thing that comes to mind. But if you got the right tools you could be tucking into the ultimate winter feast. Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service are working are alongside both Devon & Cornwall police and Avon & Somerset police as we want everyone to have a safe Bonfire night.
It’s lovely to go to a show or even have some sparklers in the back garden, but every year many children and adults are badly burnt by fireworks. So make sure your safety is paramount.
It’s a great time of year where everyone gets together to celebrate. When your family is circled around a guy on the bonfire and the fireworks are ready to light up the sky, whip out these tasty dishes to get everyone in the party mood!
