Taunton Town have strengthened their squad further with the signing of striker Steve Murray from Toolstation Premier Division side Street. Murray, 24, is Town’s fourth new acquisition of the summer so far and will boost the Peacocks’ firepower after finishing as the joint fourth highest scorer in the Western League last season, netting 28 goals in 36 games, and ending with 31 goals in all competitions. Manager Leigh Robinson commented:” We’re really pleased to have Steve on board.
He has scored an incredible amount of goals at Western League level and has now taken the chance to show he can do the same at a higher level. We lacked a real poacher last year and Steve’s record shows he has a fantastic eye for goal which was an area we identified that we needed to improve.”
