Step Inside the Creative Spark: Charron Pugsley‑Hill at Somerset Open Studios

This 13th to 28th September, step behind the canvas and into the heart of creativity during Somerset Art Weeks’ Open Studios. As part of this countywide celebration, Charron Pugsley‑Hill will be opening her studio doors to welcome curious minds and art lovers alike.

What Makes Open Studios So Special?

Somerset Open Studios stands out as the largest visual art and design event in the county, inviting visitors to explore creative spaces, witness artistic processes, and connect directly with the people behind the work. Over the course of 16 days, more than 150 venues—from home studios to shared spaces—will pulsate with inspiration and artistic energy.

Meet Charron in Her Element

Charron’s studio is a burst of colour and emotion—floors, walls, and canvases come alive with shimmering metallics, sparkles, and bold brushwork. Her creations are steeped in the beauty of nature: florals, gardens, and landscapes rendered in a spontaneous, intuitive style designed to bring joy and connection.

At her Open Studio, expect to see:

  • Lively floral canvases that glow with glitter, texture, and life.
  • A glimpse into her creative process—how nature, intuition, and emotion converge in each piece.
  • The chance to chat with Charron personally about her use of colour, techniques, and environmental inspiration.

What to Enjoy When You Visit

  • Intimate connections: Discover the story behind each painting and feel the creative energy in action.
  • Browse and purchase: Choose from finished works or commission something unique and meaningful.
  • Broader event highlights: With demonstrations, group showcases, and family-friendly weekends across the county, this is your invitation to explore art in unexpected places.

Planning Your Visit

To explore Charron’s studio and others across Somerset:

  • Pick up a printed guide from cultural venues like tourist information centres, galleries, or libraries; or use the SAW app and digital interactive map.
  • Whether you meander through rural hideaways or vibrant shared studios, each location offers a unique experience of discovery and creative connection.

Why stop by Charron’s studio? Because walking into her world is like stepping into a celebration of nature, colour, and unfiltered emotion. It’s less about seeing art completed—and more about witnessing art come alive.
