Taunton have signed striker Peter Knox from Bridgwater Town and he goes straight into the squad for Boxing Day's Evo-Stik League home game versus Bideford. This will be Knox's second spell at Wordsworth Drive, having made his debut for Town during the latter part of our last season in the Western League in 2001-02. He then made several appearances in the Southern League the following season before work commitments saw him move to Yorkshire. Knox, 31, signed for Bridgwater at the beginning of this season but has recently been playing for Frickley Athletic in the Evo-Stik League Northern Premier Division and can list a number of other northern clubs on his cv including Eastwood Town, Hednesford Town and Stocksbridge Park Steels.

Another recent signing, goalkeeper Lee Matthews, misses the Bideford fixture as he begins the first match of a three game suspension which he incurred playing for his former club Bishop Sutton. Craig Veal is likely to don the gloves in Matthews' absence. Town are without Owen Irish, Luke Cole and Jamie Short along with assistant manager Paul Short who have all gone on a family holiday. Jon Vance is also absent due to a one match suspension for five bookings. However Simon Ingram returns after missing the Didcot game.
