Motoring treat for Dads this Fathers Day
MOTOR vehicle fans from Somerset are next month (June, 2012) being invited to a free event taking place at a garden centre in the county this June.
The Classic Vehicle Day, which coincides with Father’s Day, is being held at Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre on Sunday, June 17 from 10am.
Norma Moore, General Manager of the independent, family-run garden centre at Monkton Heathfield near Taunton, said: “As part of our 30th birthday celebrations we’re holding a Classic Vehicle Day.
“We’ve invited any vintage and classic vehicle owners to display at the event and hope to have lots of cars for people to see.
“Anyone who would like to display their vehicle on the day is welcome but we’d especially like to see some cars from 1982, the year that the garden centre was founded. Displaying at the event is free of charge.”
Anyone interested in displaying a vehicle at the event should call Steve Searle, Shop Manager at Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre, on 01823 412381 for further details.
Norma added: “We are also running a special lunch offer in our restaurant on Father’s Day so that you can treat dad to a home-made meal without all the hassle of cooking it yourself or clearing it away.
“A two-course meal will cost £9.99 per person and will include a delicious slice of gateaux.”
Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The award-winning garden centre was launched in 1982 and is run by the Bellman family with the help of nearly 100 staff. Some have been with the business for more than 25 years.
The Classic Vehicle Day takes place at Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre on Sunday, June 17 from 10am until 4pm. Entry to the event is free.
Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre is located just off the A38 at Monkton Heathfield between Bridgwater and Taunton.
