Reduction in the risks of heart disease and stroke,

Improvement in conditions such as hypertension – high blood pressure, high cholesterol, joint and muscle pains, stiffness, and diabetes,

Stronger bones

Improved balance,

Better muscle strength and endurance,

Reduced body fat,

Better mental health, walking is often very pleasant and calming.

Make walking a habit, start by walking to school. Parents will benefit from walking their children to school as it is healthier for them also, walking costs less that driving a car, removes the problem of parking close to school, congestion, and does away with the carbon emissions close to your children’s school.

During the week of Walk to School Weekwhy not join the many who already walk to school, start your children young with a walking habit and it could become the start of a lifetimes love of walking. Join up with other parents and make walking to school a more social occasion.
