Government Grants for Heat Pumps!

Did you know you could be able to get a government grant to move over to low carbon heating systems such as Heat Pumps? Read on to find out more.

Through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme you could upgrade your home to a modern, low emission and low cost Heating System.  The scheme is open to domestic and small non-domestic properties in England and Wales and it runs from 2022 to 2025.  Certain terms and conditions have to be met, but your installer will ensure you meet the criteria and then they apply on your behalf.  Helping you to lower your energy bills in one fell swoop and helping the environment at the same time.  What have you got to lose?  Well, lots actually, but it’s not bad news at all!

Lose:     Annual maintenance checks and services             Lose:     High energy costs.

Lose:     Fossil fuel dependency                                                 Lose:     Noisy Boiler

Lose:     Emissions                                                                            Lose:     Ongoing running costs

There are lots of gains too.  Life expectancy of a heat pump is 20 to 25 years, compared to the traditional boilers of 10 to 15 years use.  Energy bills will fall, you will no longer be dependent on carbon or fossil fuels, no boiler rattle or hum in the house, and annual services are advised but not necessary as the heat pumps have very few moving parts and not much to service or check.  This will save you hundreds of pounds in running costs alone!

Heat pumps come in three distinct variations, Air Source, Ground Source and Water Source.  They all do the same thing in producing energy from the environment and converting it into usable heat.  It can run underfloor heating too, so if you are building a new home or converting an older one, you should definitely find out what these environmentally friendly heat pumps can do for you.

Southern Renewables, our local expert in heat pumps can tell you lots more about what system will suit you best.  These systems are backwards compatible in lots of cases, so will have the flexibility to fit to your existing heating systems, so don’t think because you have an older property you can’t upgrade.  Talk to the experts and find out what can be done, because with the aid of a government grant to help you with the upfront cost of the system, you might be nearer to finding a cheaper, greener solution to our energy crisis than you thought!
