Members of the South West Orchid Society will be at Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre in Taunton on March 9 offering visitors plant care advice.

Norma Moore, General Manager at the award-winning, independent family-run garden centre in Monkton Heathfield, said: “Orchids are always a great Mothering Sunday gift and contrary to popular belief are easy to look after. “Members of the South West Orchid Society will be available from 11am until 1pm and from 2pm until 4pm to give people hints and tips on looking after the popular houseplant to make sure it keeps flowering and brightening up the home. “The popularity of orchids is ever-increasing and these exotic plants are easy to care for with only a little attention and the right products.

They have very specific nutritional needs so it’s important to provide them with the right nourishment. “Some of our in-house experts will also be available throughout the weekend to give customers advice.” Representatives from the South West Orchid Society will be at Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre, which was awarded the Albert Goodman Family Business Award at the Somerset Business Awards in 2012, on Saturday, March 9 from 11am until 1pm and then from 2pm until 4pm.

The in-house experts will be available to give hints and tips to visitors from Friday, March 8 until Mothering Sunday, March 10 during normal garden centre opening hours.
