The Best of Taunton is just beginning a campaign to encourage people to BUY LOCAL. The local economy is underpinned by our great local businesses and the slogan "USE THEM OR LOSE THEM" though extreme does have a message.
I visited a great local butcher this week. He commented that by far his busiest time of year is the Christmas period - and many of the Christmas customers never use the shop during the year. Loyalty to our local businesses is lost in the never ending rush to get things done (the supermarket is often quicker and easier though often not cheaper- with like for like quality)
But we'd all feel very disappointed if our great local businesses weren't their when we want them. So lets all make the effort and BUY LOCAL!!
