Visited the Allerford inn last night,Amazing! Home cooked food,great presentation and the staff couldn’t do enough for us,we felt very welcome,outstanding food and service,this is definitely a place to visit,the deserts are amazing too,we have already booked to return,the whole experience I cannot fault at all and it was very clean,also has a lovely play area for children,well worth a visit ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very quiet location in the middle of nowhere but next to a train line which will entertain young children. Staff know their products and menu very well. Food was well presented with good portions but not too much and Very reasonably priced. Ideal location for an event or wedding reception. It has a large fenced garden with a play park. I assume it is family run. It is off the beaten track but well worth the effort to get there. The Allerford chicken was excellent.

Lovely spot just outside of Taunton.
We went for a girly lunch and really enjoyed ourselves.
The welcome for the Landlord, Shane, was warm and friendly and the food was excellent!

Brought my family here for a carvery as a birthday treat.
We were welcomed with smiles as soon as we stepped through the door.
The carvery chef was friendly and efficient.
Our food was great, no complaints from the kids and the brownie was a favourite for our little ones.

Have been here a few times since new owners have taken over. Sunday carvery is so good with a large variety of meats and vegetables and so reasonably priced. Also been for lunch and dinner as a couple and thoroughly enjoyed it - great staff and love the new owners

Really disappointed!!
Having been a few times in the past for the carvery this time was not good..
Gravy was watery and thin

Service was great but will go elsewhere in future as all the family were not impressed 😒

Lovely pub and very kind staff but found the carvery just above average but from reviews it might have been an off day.
It's a small but very busy pub with lots of customers which shows it's popularity.
We walked in and only took 5 minutes to get to the bar and be sat. The atmosphere where we were seated was great as it was the smaller area which helped with noise but found where the carvery was served very loud but it's a large room so acoustics doesn't help.
We found it affordable as much as any other carvery. I opted for beef and pork for meats and had much of the veg.
The pork had great flavour and the dauphinoise potatoes were amazing with a great creamy garlic flavour. I very much enjoyed the red cabbage and peas but found the roast potatoes disappointing and the parsnips hard. But you cannot win everything, overall I enjoyed the meal.
I would love to go back again as the scenery around the inn was lovely and the staff were amazing.
I give 4 stars out of 5 but I would like to go again and rate it 5.

It was a lovely day for a Sunday roast. Me and my Mrs enjoyed it a lot. Very very good beef. A Really nice spot for a lovely quiet dinner

Our 2nd visit since the new owners/management have been at The Allerford, both for a Sunday carvery.
We booked this time for 12 of us for our daughter’s 1st birthday as a little celebration with family, absolutely beautiful food, great service, friendly staff 😊 we can’t wait for our next visit already!

We used The Allerford Inn for our wedding venue, it was absolutely perfect and more than what we dreamt of. The staff were incredible and helped me make my dream a reality. No matter how much I stressed in the lead up to the wedding the staff took on that load and helped to make everything run smoothly so I could just relax on the day and just enjoy it. With a very short turn around I only had 8 weeks to plan my wedding from start to finish but Shane put me at ease and we had the most perfect magical day. If anyone is thinking of having The Allerford Inn for their wedding venue I 100% recommend!

Great food and lovely atmosphere, staff were attentive and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Was very busy being a Sunday lunchtime but we were still made to feel relaxed and able to enjoy our meal.

Came here for a birthday meal on 4pm on a Sunday . Unfortunately all the veg was cold and only gammon or pork as the choice of meat. Not a good variety or the 3 meats as promised in their website!
Wouldn’t recommend going then on a Sunday as nothing was fresh!

We were a family celebrating a 50th Birthday and all 17 of us enjoyed our meals. The vegetarian nut roast was the best I have had in a long time .
Highly recommend.

What I want from a decent carvery is lean meat, plenty of choice of fresh vegetables, decent gravy and good service.
The Allerford Inn was the best carvery I’ve had in a long time. The beef was delicious, and others in my party reported the same for the turkey and pork. The meat gravy was full of flavour.
There were the treats you might not bother with if you were cooking at home such as Dauphinoise potatoes and cauliflower cheese, but also a good selection of fresh vegetables, which I find are all too often missed by venues offering carvery. A good choice for all members of our party.
The service was brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and the service came with a smile, without exception. You could tell the staff enjoyed their jobs.
We will be back, a hard carvery to beat!

Held an event here today for a family baby shower , the food was out of this world 🌍 nothing was to much trouble in event planing and the team were fantastic. Beautiful setting, fantastic communication, amazing day . Could not have ever asked for more . Amazing family memories are made here

I came here for a works Christmas party was a brilliant atmosphere the staff were all friendly and chatty throughout the night and came over to us several times to see if we were okay and anything they can get us.
The food was lovely good selection of meat and vegetables.
The Circus show was a good and the live band at the end of the night was good.
